New Revell Germany Halifax?
Posted by Zar on Saturday, June 4, 2011 9:04 AM

In the lates issue of FSM someone mentioned a new ROG release of the Halifax. Has anyone heard of this as being true and if so is there a 1/48th scale release? Love this plane and I have no desire to build the FM version which is apparently a nightmare of clean up and fit issues. Thanks.

According to the description, it's the old Matchbox kit.  For a 70s 1/72 scale kit that wasn't too bad, but it was still a 70s 1/72 scale kit.

I believe Revell Germany owns the molds to all the old Matchbox kits and trots them out from time to time.  In the last year they have reissued the 1/32 Spitfire Mk 22.

With the old kit makers who have a large catalog of old kits, you always have to be careful where a kit's molds come from.  Revell Ger has released some great new mold kits in recent years, but the bulk of their releases are old kits.

Looking at the first link there and then the second photo I thought great nice interior, then saw where the ejector pin marks where and thought impossible to remove. Dont they think about the pin marks??

Not seen any build reviews on it as yet. I am hoping for some decals for a Norfolk based aircraft as i would love to add this to the stash.

antoni, Hannants has it for just short of £18.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Links to observations, pictures, instructions, decals and a build article.  It's available in Europe, so if you cannot wait a few months for the slow boat to get to the US, then you can buy it online at Hannants, for a premium of course.

Wow...was not expecting that all of those different mark options would be available in one box, especially as the gun-nose and the glass nose looked so different...that's good news...
