The Raid on Taranto..
Manstein's revenge Posted: Fri, Jan 27 2012 8:19 AM Reply

...any of you have any good skinny on the Swordfish Raid on the Italian Fleet in Taranto Harbor in November of 1940?   I'm looking for pics (or artwork) of the planes that flew, Order of Battle, etc...

Don't refer me to google or Wikepedia---been there, done that.  I'm looking for some unique material and insight...

Have you seen this book?

Attack on Taranto

Not related to that battle, but another good book:

To War in a Stringbag

I have the first...good on general narrative and overview but weak on details and pictures of a/c involved...

England attacked Taranto????  When did that happen and what do they have against the Canadians?  Sure the Blue Jays won the World Series in '92 and '93 but that's no reason to attack them!!

Manstein, I don't know if you might have found this already, but it appears to be an archived web-site that has all kinds of data that you might be interested in:http://www.oocities.org/ed_morris_inc/grandfather/Taranto.htm

There is an excellent thread on this very subject by someone that is doing a 1/48 string at Taranto. Just do the search thingee for it.

WIP:  Monogram 1/72 B-26 (Snaptite) as 73rd BS B-26, 40-1408, torpedo bomber attempt on Ryujo

Monogram 1/72 B-26 (Snaptite) as 22nd BG B-26, 7-Mile Drome, New Guinea

Minicraft 1/72 B-24D as LB-30, AL-613, "Tough Boy", 28th Composite Group
