I saw BP's talking head on GMA today. Slick (no pun intended) dude. BP owns the lease but some other company was running the rig. When asked if the rig was equipped with the blow off safety valve or whatever technology is used to automatically cap the leak, his response was that they had whatever was required by law. And we know those laws would NEVER be counter-lobbied for extra safety by the oil companies.
