With the current Knights of the Sky GB ending in one month, I have had a few requests about doing a second one. So, I am gearing up to run "Knights of the Sky II-2009" beginning on January 1st, 2009 and running through August 31st, 2009. The rules are fairly simple, including:
1. Have fun!
2. Only aircraft that saw action during the course of WWI are allowed. Here's a link with a comprehensive list:
WWI aircraft
3. Any scale, OOB or as much aftermarket you can throw at it.
4. Cross-overs allowed, as long as they meet the other criteria.
5. Preferably unstarted kits, though a little work completed OK.
There have been dozens of absolutely stunning models built during the course of the first GB, and I really cannot wait to see what happens during the second run! I hope to see many familiar faces here, along with new ones.
I designed two different Gb badges, feel free to grab one when you sign up.
Here's in so far...

Frank! You are a silver tongued devil. Well I am sure I'll be building more WWI aircraft kits. So there is no use in fighting the urge.
Sign me up. I'll try to finish up what I have now for the 1st GB and see what I have on the shelf for the next few months.
Glad to have you aboard fellas!
Stephen- I was really hoping you would be up for another one. Your builds and knowledge were absolutely vital for making the last one what it is. Looking forward to building with you again!
Donald- I'll put you down for the Fokker. Which kit/scale is that one?
Watchmann- Got you on the list! As soon as you decide, I'll add it to the roster.
I feeling brave again! Let me find a kit, and I'll get back with you. Also can you make a list of what is OK?
gary
ollie- Got you on the list!
gary- I hope you are able to find a kit you would like to build. For a list of eligible builds, here's a good list at Wikipedia:
HTH!
Frank,
Will you allow fictitious markings? If so, I'd like to do Kessler's Dr1 from Waldo Pepper. If not, I'll still do a Dr1. Scale will most likely be 1/72. Don, the group builds here are like the one we're doing for NCT, only we're not doing cruisers (I'm doing CA-30 USS Houston) and the models as a group aren't going to the Nats. Instead of taking the build to meetings as it progresses just post pics. Also you get a neat badge to add to your signature if you so desire.
No longer in build.
Daywalker wrote:Watchmann- Got you on the list! As soon as you decide, I'll add it to the roster.
Ok, I'd like to build Eduard's 1/48 Roland C.II (Walfisch)
Frank - This might be a good excuse to drag out that old Auroa Gotha Bomber but then again something else might tumble off the stack
Donald- Opps! ONe more thing; is that the Roden kit? And about the GB's, basically start them when the GB starts, post as many in-progress pics as you like, and share in the experience/knowledge gained. These can be a lot of fun! I learned so much last year about these WWI kites (I really didn't know anything about them before!). I was also fortunate enough to acquire some needed decals from a couple of the guys (Thanks again Mike and Stephen!) that were OOP. I hope that helps answer your question!
buddy- I think fictitious markings are fine. Those certainly look the business. As long as it's not something like, say, F-16 NATO Tiger Meet markings on an Albatros.
Joe- Thanks for the feedback on the badges! I worked on those for almost 6 hours. Glad you like them. I added your Vickers to the list, looking forward to that one! Can't recall ever seeing one built.
Roy- I think a transfer would be best. I would hate to have you start building that kit after the GB ended and nobody saw the progress. Let me know if you would like me to transfer your info here.
Watchmann- I added your Roland to the list! A very exciting scheme you have chosen, one of my favorites.
Sean- I put your Gotha on the list! Any idea what the scale is on that bad boy? If any other kits tumble down upon you from the stash and you would like to change entries, just let me know.
