Dear fellows This is a Curtiss F, 1914 model, made from scratch in 1/72 scale. I used wood, plastic card, bamboo, etc, to make it. The hull was made of oak, polished and varnished. The wings and tail surfaces were made of plastic card. The struts made of bamboo. This little flying boat was the first plane of Brazilian Naval Aviation. Four were used from 1916 untill 1923.

Stunning! Excellent craftsmanship there. The old Curtiss floatplanes are so cool and yet, highly neglected in model form. You have a real show-stopper there.

That's some superb scratch building you've done!!! I really like the the fact the many of your builds are based on the history and aircraft of the Brazilian airforce. It I remember correctly from one of your previous posts you served in the Brazilian airforce. Is that correct? Thanks for sharing your outstanding work here in the forum.

model geek Thanks for your words! I spent 30 years of my life as a mechanic in Brazilian Air Force working or flying aircrafts like B-25, Glosteor F 8 Meteor, T-33, T-6, C-47, Bell Huey, etc. Perhaps this is why I like to make my models with relationship with Brazil aviation. The first airplane I flew in 1961 was a B-25J, an unforgetable event. I hope you can understand my words as my English knowledge is not very good..... When I was very young (1969) besides a B-25J Me (wearing white T-shirt) in front of a T-6 (1973)

That doesn't look like an R-1340 in that T-6 Was it something different or just a different ignition ring on the front? Alvarenga wrote: | [/IMG] Me (wearing white T-shirt) in front of a T-6 (1973) |
