Re: Mars Attacks
Is this how the martians originally looked or did the studio change them?

Re: Mars Attacks

for those who dont know mars attacks started as a series of trading cards

those are just a few, this site here has all of them on it

http://goldenagecomicbookstories.blogspot.com/2009/05/mars-attacks-originally-published-by.html

They put out subsiquent newer series of trading cards with alot better artwork and no real storyline.  I have one, its a boy hiding in a bathroom stall wearing a bazooka joe shirt, his sister dead infront of the door and a martian peeking in.  Its signed by the artist Zena Saunders as well as Wesley Morris, the artist for bazooka joe

If you dont know the movie was a tim burton movie and was made as a comedy not a horror movie.  There also has been as much more series comic series based from the trading cards again thats alot more dark.  This model kit is based off of the more political/scientific archetype of the martians you saw in the comics.

I like the kit though, you did a good job.  Personally, I would have it alot less bright, but you did a really good job, I have been wanting one of these mars attacks kits for a while

Re: Mars Attacks

Great work I really like that figure. I did a scrathbuilt and kitbashed model inspired by the movie 'Mars Attacks' and the old Tops bubblegum cards myself. It was built using parts from the Polar Lights Jetson car and PVC plumbing supplies. There are lights in the Martian pilot's eyes, the instrument panel and a death ray on the robot's chest. I also added a victim made from an old aquarium decoration.
