Question for you guys in the know
Is the US Airforce operating again in Myrtle Beach, SC? I am on holiday with the family here and have seen an F-16 or F18 and a C-130 take off from the civilian airport here.

Yeah, the USAF doesn't use the F-18.

Probably the Air Guard using it or an exercise.  The AF rents out the airport at Roswell, NM for the Operation Roving Sands exercise, or in 1994, the Congressionally-mandated B-1B Reliablility Test.  Roswell used to be Walker AFB, postwar home of the nuke 509th BG.

It's now Whiteman AFB, MO.  Home of the B-2 Bomber.  I was a crew chief on them for four years there.
