Krylon Spray Paints

Has anyone ever used the Krylons for Plastic spray cans?  I have a rather large aircraft that is going to take numerous coats of white to get the finish I want and if Krylon works, it may be the most cost effective for me?

This link shows the type of Krylon I am referring to:  http://www.krylon.com/products/fusion_for_plastic/

I appreciate any comments!

Re: Krylon Spray Paints

You're better off using their primer. I recently thought I would take a short cut to do a 1:18 model using Fusion paint, it turned out to be a disaster that I haven't been able to recover from even yet. I had to go hunt down another model to do the project...fortunately it was before Wally World stopped selling them.

How big of a model are we talking about here? A can of hobby paint such as Tamiya would be hands down better to get your white base laid down.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

I have used the flat white as a primer. I decanted the paint, let all the compresse gases bubble out and sprayed it trough my airbrush but it went down fine... nice and smooth and adhered well.

How do you decant spray paint without creating a cloud.

Hold a drinking straw tightly to the nozzle... where rubber gloves... and spray into a clean jar.  It will be bubbly from the compressed gas so you have to let it sit loosely covered for a while for it the gas to come out.  A stir every now and then will help it along.
