Spinning Propellers

Hi all...the Oct '03 issue of FSM carried a Paul Boyer article on making spinning propellers out of clear plastic sheet.  He referenced the product he used as PETG or Vivak with .015" thickness.  Does anyone know where to get this stuff reasonably?  I have visited some graphics design web sites and they have something in mylar that may work.  Trouble is you have to buy lots and pay lots.  I am finishing a  balsa construction F-8 Bearcat by Dumas for my grandson and we plan to hang the beast from his ceiling.  A spinning prop would be cool.  Any suggestions?

You can use clear styrene or acetate. Head guage clear document protectors work in a pinch too. They are easy to cut out and score in some detail as well.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

Re: Spinning Propellers

Hi and yes I have a suggestion.

If you ever lose any tiny parts, check Scouts wet nose.  Ever time I start looking around the floor for some little bit I've dropped, my huskie Koda, needs to come over and see what I'm doing. But be careful, once it's stuck to his nose it's just a lick away from disappearing forever.

OK maybe not forever, but I positively don't want it back any more.Dead [xx(]
