BUFFLEHEAD

i am glad to see your correct coloring of the mufflers and tools

so many of us tend to just through  the same camo/body color of the tank over those items and leave it at that

Re: Norway WWII Group Build 2009

Thanks all!  More progress last night, but I was too tired to take photos...sorry.  Had two blunders though.  The detail washes didn't come out the way I wanted probably because I didn't wait for them to dry thoroughly, and I dropped the painted shovel and proceeded to roll over it with my chair...Dunce [D)].  Fortunately it didn't break, but it got a little bent and the paint was all scraped off in areas (sigh).  Huxy, thanks for the extension!  Looks like I'll need a couple more days to fix my booboos!  Still, I should have it done before the weekend is over!  If I'm not too tired I'll post some photos tonight.

Moving right along fellas!  Got the washes looking better and it turns out the shovel was broken so I had to scratch a new handle and repaint the whole darn thing!  Applied some filters to the tools and exhaust tubes and muffler:

The weekend should see this little guy complete!  Thanks again Huxy for the extension!

Re: Norway WWII Group Build 2009
The weekend was busier than I planned!!  The Pz. I is ALMOST complete guys, about 99.8% complete.  As usual one of the fender lights broke off Censored [censored] and I thought I would have to scratch a new one, but 11 PM last night I found it behind the computer.... so tonight I'll glue it back on, paint the inside and put a lens on it.  Then (and only because I'm never quite satisfied with my work) I'll tweak the weathering just a little bit more and send it to the photo booth for final pics!

Re: Norway WWII Group Build 2009

Well fellas, the Dragon Pz. I Ausf. A is done!  For some reason I struggled at the end to finish it up.  Kept breaking things off (like the little fender lights) and rubbing off paint with my overhandling.  I think I corrected all my mishaps, but there may be something I missed?

Anyway this little AFV was assigned to 3./Pz.Abt.z.b.V.40 in Norway, don't know what timeframe other than 1940.  All the websites that I originally wanted to use as a reference for panzers in this battalion disappeared so my only reference photo was one from a Panzer I book I had.  Surprisingly the vehicle is the exact same one represented by the markings in the kit!

I'm curious about all the bicycles laying on the road.  Do you think the German soldiers were riding them?  Maybe they were out for a little ride through the woods and some irate Norwegians started taking pot shots at them?!?Laugh [(-D]  Here's my version of that vehicle:

Thanks Huxy and all the other participants for a fun GB!!  I learned quite a bit about a theatre of WWII that was unknown to me!  I'm up for another Norway WWII GB next year; that Armo Neubaufahrzeuge kit is still out there....Big Smile [:D]

Re: Norway WWII Group Build 2009

Here's my update.....finally! Thanks for waiting.Big Smile [:D]

I finally put together the turret after painting the guns and the interior. The seat has an added tissue layer for more texture, the interior was done the same way as elsewhere(layed off the yellow a bit this time.) The mufflers were in a way, spackled with some Testor's contour putty. After the putty was dried, I sanded off any high ridges, then layed down a mix of Testor's Rust and Floquil Weathered Black. Once the paint dried, I then threw on an iron powder wash to make it *pop*. PE screens have been bent, so I should be getting those painted along with the turret very soon. Then work will move to all the little gadgets and tools on the fenders.Wink [;)]

Oh, almost forgot the jack box I scratched out of wood has also been installed w/ the PE straps. I'll get a picture of that region in my next update.

bufflehead & jay12472 - Thanks for the comments!

Huxy - 15th of November.....I think that will work, since I just have to finish the tools and extras(like the scratch rope I'm making.)
