Jaypack, Jeaton: Great looking birds so far! I'm anxious to get back behind the bench after weeks of travel. I've got a lot of catching up to do!

Broke out the Eduard kit last night. Started off painting while everything is still on the sprues. I sprayed all the interior parts flat black (as well as the prop blades, get those out of the way), followed up by a coat of Polly S Interior green. The green over black darkened the green a bit, giving a pretty good match to that "Bell Interior green". Hopefully this weekend I can start some construction, and take some pics. Charlie

Marc, Those flaps look GREAT! You must have the patience of a saint to deal with lineing up all those PE pieces.

As one of the founding members and head of the South Eastern/Gulf Coast office of Progress Dogs LLC, I feel obligated to reply to this post. While it is true that we here at Progress Dogs LLC prefer to see pics with updates, we do not have an official policy requireing them. However we are of the opinion that pics enhance the quality of the experince here on FSM. As an un-written rule updates with out pics are acceptable from time to time. Updates with out pics on a regular basis are frowned upon, unless the participant does not have the means to take or post pics. In this situation we recomend obtaining the needed items and skills to post pics. Our west coast office (ED) specializes in tutoring members on how to post pics. It is a free service we provide to FSM members who meet certain criteria (see publication # 60.03). I hope this clears up any confusion. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. ![SoapBox [soapbox]](/emoticons/icon_smile_soapbox.gif) |

We do however appreciate pics and if ya post, we do require a 3 pic minimum which is the rule rather than the exception.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, ed, but during the last weekend in each month, if you post 3 pics, your 4th post is free, right? I could have sworn that was in the Rules and Regulations when I subscribed to the newsletter.

You can sign up for the newsletter by contacting the West coast office.* You must meet certain criteria though. First read publication 60.03, sign the medical release forms and legal documents included, then return them to ED, and In four to six weeks you should get your first newsletter. There is a nominal shipping and handeling charge payable to me at the gulf coast office, and there are some maintenence fees payable each month to the west coast office. Plus there is the subscription price, we have a payment plan availible with a low 29.99% anual interest rate. As you would expect a credit check is required, and we need 3 credit references (no relatives please). I hope this has been helpfull. *Member FDIC, no waranty is implied or expressed in this offer, please check local laws and regulations before signing up. void where prohibited, offer not availible in HI, AK, RI, NJ, NY, WY, US teritories, or outside the US.

Alright, some progress pics from today. Got the fuselage together. A bit of a gap on the forward fuselage, a little zap a gap took care of it. Charlie

Charlie, great job! Looks like she's coming together nicely. Here's where I'm at. First, the "before" pic of the wing seams: Then, the "after" pic. I think some more test fitting and trimming would have minimized the seams and needed less filler, but live and learn. I got about half way through applying the Eduard supplied canopy masks when I noticed a couple were peeling up at the corners. Gave up on them completely at that point and finished the masking with strips of Tamiya tape. Had the canopy white glued on, but it popped loose the first time I tried to fit the right door, which I'm going to glue closed. Reglued with regular cement, but the door is going to take a lot of fiddling to fit correctly. Cheers!

I found out that if you remove the two mounting tabs on the door, sand both the front and back edges untl they fit, and sand the top front corner/curve to match that of the canopy. this should help eliminate a lot of the headaches.![Big Smile [:D]](/emoticons/icon_smile_big.gif)
