Rob, your B-58 looks great! I have that same kit hanging from the ceiling of my workshop but I did it in MM metallics, not foil. Having just completed the 1/72 kit, I shudder to think of all that additional size to cover in foil. Tonight has gone well for me. I remain at 99% done on my B-58, with just a bit of touch-up painting and a finishing job on the display base to go. I managed to get my house clean so the wife will be surprised and happy when she gets home for our anniversary tomorrow, and having the house to myself, I've been afforded the privilege of big action movies playing with full home theater. Aliens was first, now it's The Empire Strikes Back. Love these movies, and I love the rumble from the subwoofer.

Rob, PAIN-FREE? What's that??? Glad to hear things are getting better. I got a get well gift for you. I'll leave it in your dads hanger this week, if that works for you! Oh yeah, the 58 looks great, now that you're gettin better....finish it!!! Anyway, got the 104 finished this afternoon. Again I say, it's a great kit, I added Eduard color PE to the pit(just cuz I had it), and a true details seat(again, cuz I had it), not that it needed any AM. A good kit for O-O-B. The decals looked super thick, on the paper, but turned out to be nice and thin and settled into the lines and rivets with only the smallest amount of micro-sol on a couple of em. I left of the multi-colored stripe decals. I never liked the looks of them on any bird from that era, they just don't match, and look a bit silly. No more BS, here's #2 Now, what's it gonna be for #3???

I jealous. I love watching movies like that......I've been watching "Band of Brothers" while working on the B-58. I should fire up the Star Wars DVD's....Ya...That's the ticket...Star Wars....

Wow is all I can say... the f-104 and B-58 are soo good. I will be gone for a while soon. In Feb I had back surgery #3, and they put 12 screws in, something is not right and they are going to remove them and fuse another level. Last time I was in the hosipital for a week. I dont know what to expect this time, but the pain has increased over the last 6 weeks and i have been loosing the feeling in my right leg. I will finish the Bounder and flying wing when I am able next month. So I am in a holding pattern until I get the date for surgery.. jd

Sherman1111 Sorry to hear you have to go thru all that again. We will be pullin for ya bud, and please let us know how its going. Fermis Now my chin hurts thanks sheesh. A beautiful build my friend !!!!! As a side note my Dad worked at Lockheed and worked on them when they were under devolopment, he had the honor of recieveing an injury that the 104s were famous for. They called them a missile with razor blade wings. They started putting pads on the leading edges of the wings so workers wouldnt cut their forheads.

She's done. 1/48 B-58 Hustler covered with household foil, clear coated with Future Floor Wax. She was built OOB with the exception of the aftermarket Exhaust Cans and Elevons. I also added some lead weight to the nose. As Fermis said...No more BS. Thanks for looking

Not to be totally out-done, here is my smaller B-58. The only remaining task left is to put some varnish on the base. I tried to make the landing gear appear to be in a retracting position as this display is of the Hustler as it blasts skyward. I'm not sure if I actually got the gear to look like that, and to be frank, I wasn't even sure how the nose gear would retract, which direction, etc, and never found any photographic evidence.

B-58's and F104 are great builds, I am out classed... Preaty much done with the bounder, going to have to hang from cirling to get more pictures, but with my back out i can't climb a ladder. and still no word from the doctor. She is a big beast, looks like a flying dart. The Soviets sure made some good looking birds. jd

Well guys I just dont know what to say at this point, stunning builds Aggieman, and Lancair IV. Hey did you guys plan this one, both builds done the same day, same plane errrr jets ?? Love seeing the differance between the 2 scales, wait>>>>>>>>> cant see any differance . Got them on the front page already too, its starting to fill up. Sherman1111 Out classed ???? What the heck are you talking about ? I cant wait to post your Bounder on the front page, very nice work you have been doing there. Yup I would say you can run with the BIG DAWGS Sherman. Maybe one day I can take a ride down to OC and see it in person.
