Looking good ! Just love those Russian SPG's, utilitarian monsters. I have an ISU-152 in my stash waiting for some PE and Friuls. Julian ![Smile [:)]](/emoticons/icon_smile.gif)

This was my first time painting Friuls (I build up a set before - but they never ended on a built model). I painted a base coat of acrylic black grey, gave a wash or two of van *** brown, lightly sanded away some paint to expose the metal and gave a coat of Dullcote. I was pleasantly surprised by the results.

OOB! This just made the list of kits to pick up at AMPS east this year. vtrockin wrote: | |
Great job on the tracks VTR. Looking forward to seeing them on the finished product. I've never used Fruils before just Model Kasten. People have mentioned having trouble getting paint on the Fruils, did you?

wbill, guney, model, and maniac...thanks! panzerguy wrote: | | OOB! This just made the list of kits to pick up at AMPS east this year. |

The build was great and the only fit problem was for the rear grill cover. If I remember correctly there were two covers...one with the mesh molded in plastic, the other that was to be used with the PE part. The one with the molded plastic mesh fit properly and the other one for the PE didn't. The solution was just use the molded plastic mesh cover and saw out the plastic mesh and replace with the PE part. panzerguy wrote: | | Great job on the tracks VTR. I've read the same concern. I let the built of track soak in vinager overnight and scrubbed 'em real good to make sure they didn't have any oil residues or anything else that would effect adhesion. I primed with Krylon acrylic primer and then used my normal acrylics and oil washes. I haven't had any problems yet - but I did notice when I scrubbed/sanded the track to expose the metal for weathering the paint came of real easy. So as long as no accidental abrasion happen to the tracks I think I'm okay...we'll see!

Almost at the finish line. General blanket washes of Van *** brown and pin wash of black completed. Gonna throw a coat of Dullcote on and finish up with the weathering using some pigments and other minor details.

And we're finally done. I finished it up with some MIG Pigments to give a used look. I used a combination of Russian Earth and Europe Dust. I usually think of Russian tanks covered in mud and was going to attempt that, but this project has been on my workbench way too long so it was time to do a basic dusting and move on.
