Military aircraft that look like that as models tend to look like toys, they don't look real. A military model has to be dirty! Like I said, the site is a great source for adding detail, especially the early pictures of the unrestored cockpit. The plane does look great and it's up for sale, $2.5 million dollars! Get yours today! lol |

That's why I posted the link for the Detail photos. :) Bud

I was lucky enough to have sat in this bird. I flew an ultralight into the Clark county airport to visit with a cousin and as we were driving out of the airport THERE IT WAS!!! My cousin yelled at me for drooling all over her car! hahaha The crew were very nice and allowed me to shoot all around her, in the cockpit, etc. I promised not to drool on her... ;) Unfortunately I did not have my camera so I borrowed my cousins. Several weeks later I emailed them and asked if I could come back down and take more pictures, video, and measurements. They said they had sold her to someone in California... :( I am building a Brian Taylor 1/6 scale F4U Corsair so I wanted to take pictures that are not on their website. I need closeups of the placards and other cockpit detail in case Luke Zollner doesn't offer his 1/6 cockpit for sell - hint hint Luke... ;) BTW, I bought one of Luke's 1/8 scale cockpit kits - EXCELLENT!!! The Corsair I built is shown here: http://putfile.com/rwright142 - I don't have cockpit pictures there yet, but will soon. One more thing, does anyone know where I can buy a 1/6 scale Corsair tailwheel assembly and wheel? I know where I can get one with a working strut and tailhook, including the wheel but it is $125. Thanks in advance.

uhhh YEAH! ;) I'd be happy to share a DVD with you if you are interested. I made a DVD of the following planes. I sat in most of them and took video and pictures: P51 Mustang, P47 Thunderbolt, B25 Mitchell, T6 (5NJ), TBM Avenger, F4U-5 Corsair, FG-1D Corsair (2 of these, one was in bad shape and restoration had not yet begun) My email is rwright142@yahoo.com Thanks again!

One more thing, I know a guy named Lex Cralley who salvaged a rare Brewster F3A-1 Corsair (Bu. No. 04634) from a swamp in North Carolina. The Navy took him to court but he won! This will be a labor of love for Lex and he has a website now brewstercorsair.com that documents the process. I will be supporting him and I hope other Corsair fans will to.

Lex now had a website for the restored Brewster Corsair: http://brewstercorsair.com If you love warbirds and Corsairs, support Lex and his restoration! OOPS, I just noticed I had already posted the website. Sorry for the duplication.
