The gulf coast office of the Progress Dogs is still here. However due to our recent move no progress on any model has been made. The P 39 is still next on the bench but it may be a week or so before work starts up again. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.SoapBox [soapbox]Cool [8D]

Re: P-39 Airacobra Group Build

My P-39 is just about done, just need to add the Pliot tube the wing and take photos. Waiting for my new photo tent to show up then I'll take photos. All I have to say is this kit fought me from start to finish...but I got it done and it looks decent, but not perfect.

Re: P-39 Airacobra Group Build
Hi all, sorry for no progress pics. I'm almost done with my P-400, it just needs the landing gear, canopy, and the little "fiddly bits", plus a flat coat and weathering. I don't have any pics of it because I've been using the camera for other things (filming me and my friend doing stupid stuff with sticks, logs, hoses and BB guns-don't ask!) I'll try to get some posted this week.

A great effort, Scott, but is anyone going to notice how good your work is behind that nose art?  Seriously, it is very nicely done.

Eduard decal question

Hey guys,

I'm in the home stretch now with my Eduard P-400, camo is all on, coat of future, and I'm starting to apply the kit decals.  I can get the decals on fine, but unfortunately, they refuse to settle down into the panel lines/surface detail with my decal solvent.  I'm using Mr. Mark Softer, which I've read is one of the more aggressive solvents, and have applied it twice with no result.  It worked great on my last model, a Tamiya Buffalo with kit decals, so I'm kind of surprised to be having this trouble now.  When I apply the solvent, it just beads up on the decals then dries with no visible effect.  Is this something with Eduard decal?  Has anyone else building the Eduard kit had this problem?

Re: Eduard decal question
I used the kit decal on the foirst one i didi form the dual combo box and didnto have a problem.  I used Micro Set and Micro Sol.  If it is onlythe panel lines that won't settle in, try scoring the decal with a real sharp blade along the panel lines.  Looking forward to the end result.

Re: Eduard decal question
Thanks Marc.  I've applied some more decals and modified my technique by brushing on the solvent over the decal for 5-7 seconds, almost scrubbing it on.  The more I brush, the better the solvent seems to cover (i.e. less beading) and perform.  In short, it seems to be improving. Not as well as I had hoped, but  I think it will turn out nice in the end.
