Well done VT! Not every Russian vehicle has to be a rolling hunk of junk or look like it just fell into a mud bog and you've achieved a nice subtle effect with this one. Wink [;)]

Very nice work. She's a beauty!!! How did you achieve the light wear and tear, all the little chips and scratches? A colored pencil possibly?

The chips and scratches were done with a tiny paintbrush and lots of patience.  I started chips with a lightened base colored and followed that with a dark brown to give it its texture.  Definitely time consuming, but worth it.

While I'm not usually a fan of models as clean as this, I can't deny that it has a certain appeal. The finish reminds me of one that you'd see posted on a side of a museum somewhere, or as a roadside monument. That's distinct from most of the ones you see well-muddied-up.

It's a beautiful model, and a real distinctive finishing style.

Thanks Doog!  Comments from folks as experienced and talented in the art as you and others here in this community mean a lot.   Big Smile [:D]

I'm still learning and still figuring out what painting/weathering style suits me...a lifelong process I'm sure.
