Ah, but I sure did in spades! Sunday I grabed a Roden Fokker D.VII (with Udet decales) . . .I'm starting with the Fokker D.VII as it looks easiest.  gary

 You will find that the Udet profile it represents is actually an early Fokker Schwerin machine and there are subtle differences from that to the early OAW type they have portrayed on the cover art.  Also beware the lower wing fit.  Its easy to fix but don't narrow the fuselage halves to do it.  Sand down the lower wing ends next to the fuselage.  Even the lower half.  Be cautious fitting the forward cabane struts.  both of them and the inner face of the cowling panels need to be thinned for the best fit.

so I gather that the plane molded in the kit and the decales don't gotogether. Right? Also do you mean to say that the wings are too long on each side? I really have not looked at it much, as I'm still trying to figure out the cockpit. Do you happen to know of any color pics of the cockpit? Also while on this subject and the plane being wrong for the decale set; will the rest of the decales work?

I'd like to join this GB. I have two, a Revell 1/72 Eindecker, and a 1/72 Airfix Sopwith Pup. I've been putting them off since I was intimidated by the rigging, even though the pup is probably my favorite plane of all time. I did a search here on rigging, and I ended up getting some .003 "EZline", or something like that, hope it does the trick. Anyway, wish me luck, I'll need it Shock [:O]

Andy- Got you on the list!  I wasn't sure if you wanted me to put both on there, so I just added the Pup as it was your favorite.  If you want me to add the Revell kit too, just say the word. Thumbs Up [tup]

Mike- Outstanding!  I've managed to lure you into two GB's.  What can I say?  I really am glad you decided to have a go at this one.  These "Knights of the Sky" Group Builds wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for your inspiration.  Thanks Mike! Approve [^]

I may be persuaded to build the other half of the Camel dual combo I bought for the 1st one.

Any AM decal sheets for Camels with interest color schemes?

 Greetings gary;

The Fokker D,VII was built by 3 manufacturers.  (2 licensed firms and the parent company)  Each had their own hallmarks especially with markings.  The wings are not too long the gap for the fuselage in the lower wing is too tight.  There are several restored Fokker D.VII types in museums. You might try there or the Windsock Anthology series on the type in 3 volumes.

Frank,

You realize I was only joking about the Tiger Meet decals, right?  Put me down for something 1/72 (Unless I can find the Eduard Brisfish kit for cheap).

Buddy-
Battle plans rarely survive first contact. Don't believe me? Go on a family vacation.
