Re: The official Junior GB of 2009!

Graham I will gladly pay to ship out the four kits that I am donating to your GB myself as long as the recipient lives in North America. I had already assumed that when I offer to donate them and the cost will not be that much. Mabye a gift certificate would be a good idea in Huxy case. It would only need to be purchased online possibly and could be mailed directly to him in Norway. We would just need to find out what hobby store he would be able to use the gift certificate at and purchase it from that store. Let me know what you think about this idea.

Might join this GB i'd have to think about it anyway i'll be looking to see how this turns out. oh and boba maybe the prize should go to the most popular vote not the fastest build?

i kind of agree with flaschimjager over that. Someone might build something relatively easy like a tamiya stuart. they would finish whereas some one might build a dragon superlit (1000 parts+) type of kit.

Re: The official Junior GB of 2009!

Huxy, I built that kit awhile ago....if I recall it was a very nice, easy kit. Just watch out for the gap between the upper and lower hull.

Re: The official Junior GB of 2009!

Ok. Looks like I have a LOT of updating to do! Wink [;)]

One question, what gave you the impression that an extra prize would go to the first built kit? I believe that I stated that there would be a contest at the end and it would be decided by popular vote. I realize that someone could throw a 5-piece snap kit together and get it. Nope, it goes to the best. Huxy, the kit is a donation from Jim (Model Maniac 96)

Oh, and I know that some could really care less, but that show I mentioned earlier (and what made it hard for me to update this thread) but I took a couple of awards! I built a M3-A2 Bradley w/ERA from a Dragon armor pro kit. (BTW, the thing is a gem!) I posed it on a street with litter, and a wall featuring Saddam posters and graffiti in Arabic. Total winnings: Junior Gold medal, Junior best of show, and Best U.S. Army subject (Including adults). Yes, the show wasn't big, but there were some nice Junior models and quite a few nice USA subjects. Please, don't think I'm being arrogant, but I just had to share this! ( Finally, my head has deflated somewhat). I'll toss up a few pics when I get the chance.

Finally, falschimjager, how old are you?

Re: The official Junior GB of 2009!

Graham its not bragging to inform us when you have won an award. I always like to hear about forum members winning awards at local events no matter how small the event was you've earned it.

I was not aware that you had planned on awarding a prize for first place for this build by vote. As I stated I have four 1/48 scale WW II airplane kits that I am willing to ship to anyone that you deem as having fullfilled the requirements for this GB that is residing in North America. I know there are more than four entries for this GB and so far we only have five kits to be awarded so I am not sure how you want to decide. I hope we can find more kits as would like to see everyone that finishes this GB rewarded. Since you are the host of the GB I will let you decide who will receive the kits I am donating. If you are not interested in WWII planes then please let Graham know so I do not send you something you are not interested in building. Also I am keeping it a secret exactly what kit you will be receiving, kind of like Xmas! I could possible send something really nice if I see a build that it is so nice that it merits a special reward. So speed is not of the essence only the quality of the finish product on time. Also just because you have chosen armor as you build subject does not mean I will not ship you an airplane kit if you are interested.

Any luck finding any other donations Graham?
