A quickie update, Mounted a few of the tools, I find it best to do the trimming while the part is still attached to the sprue, after the molded on clamps are filed/sanded away the part can be removed. I scratched a prybar from brass rod. Thanks for looking, Mobious

Oops, another wuickie update, Just got the shovel and the axe fixed. I started with the shovel, but soon found out the axe has to be mounted first with the shovel being mounted somewhat above the axe. Tool clasp were added to the axe, a new shovel reciever was built from styrene along with detailing the shovel head. I'd done this with the LWS build, but it was covered by the open cargo doors. I did double check the clearance with the radio antennae trough, and everything checked out. Best Regards and "Thank you folks for kindly dropping in!" Mobious

"I've got blisters on my FINGERS!" ... I actually do have to build fast in order to avoid being overwhelmed by the ever growing "Stash" monster. Me thinks its ALIVE!!! Truethfully, this is a relatively easy build. Very few parts. Aside from the tools, the turret is the only thing left, and it's pretty basic. M0

First off, I'm happy that this GB have so many interested.. I'm optimistic for more members! And it's probably a bit early to ask for interest in a 2010 GB ![Whistling [:-^]](/emoticons/icon_smile_whistling.gif) Boba Fett: "you da Huxy" Nah, didn't sound too good ![Smile [:)]](/emoticons/icon_smile.gif) Mobious: Glad you enjoyed the pictures of Norway and the fellow neighbours! You may now probably understand why Panzers weren't so 'popular' in Norway? ![Dead [xx(]](/emoticons/icon_smile_dead.gif) And your Panzer II, Great job so far!! I love the front lights especially! Can you post a picture of the original ones so we can see difference? ![Smile [:)]](/emoticons/icon_smile.gif) And the styrene replacement for the shovel looks a little bit too big/thick in my opinion.. But a great, awsome work so far! Let's see it with colours! ![Big Smile [:D]](/emoticons/icon_smile_big.gif) And the stash, it is alive.. Nothing more to say! Tought you knew that already!! ---------------------------------------------- And a update from me... See the blad of the propellor is all wrong? I contacted the manufacturer (Airfix) for a replacement.. No replies nor nothing in the mail ![Disapprove [V]](/emoticons/icon_smile_disapprove.gif)
Hello putty and sanding!! And sanded... and all the sinkmarks (Those circular suckers) that I have now removed, filled ant sanded... A huge mouldline along the engine cowl, fixed now though... And an instrumentpanel and side details were added... A bit further progress have been made.. actually, alot progress.. Painted the cockpit, attached the cockpit to the hull side, glued the hull sides togheter, added engine cowl and propellor, elevators and wings.. Pictures to come!! So that was that! ![Big Smile [:D]](/emoticons/icon_smile_big.gif) -Huxy

Hey huxy, The stash is alive, I clean up the work area, put a kit or two away and the next day there are 4 or 5 setting on the bench calling out to me! Build Me! Build Me!....![Big Smile [:D]](/emoticons/icon_smile_big.gif) Finished up with the tools and should be moving onto the turret. Did manage a pic of the lights. The shovel holder should be OK, It's the thinnest material I've got in stock. I think it's like >.010" ( > .25mm). I'll keep an eyeball on it after primer, thanks for the heads up! The CA hazed the clear pretty badly. I need to attach the bezels first with the CA, then the lens with white glue. Should be an easy fix though.
Looks like a save on the prop huxy. Nice job. Those sinkmarks must have been a bear considering where they are located. I'm used to seeing things like that on the inside, not on the outside? Thanks for checking in Jason Mobious Huxy, since this GB runs until something like Oct. of 09, count me in for an 1/48 FW190 A8. The stash is calling... REAL LOUDLY!

Yeah.. I got a 1/16 infantryman, 1/35 DUKW, 1/5 Sd.kfz 234 especially yelling at me.. Or is it me yelling at them? ![Dead [xx(]](/emoticons/icon_smile_dead.gif) Well, glad youincluded the metrics on the thickness.. .010" don't tell me a thing.. Not with the ruler nearby anyways ![Smile [:)]](/emoticons/icon_smile.gif) And the kit lamps there looks worse than yours.. They should hire you for kit designing! And thakns for the prop.. And the sinkmarks, well, it's an old Airfix mould and the wings are not in halves. Each wing is one piece, resulting in 4 huge sinkmarks to remove... Well, they are all fixed (thank god)! And what!? yet another model? Well, I can't blame ya.. I'm wondering about building a diorama with the French foregin legion in Narvik, 1940. The Legion 13. D.B.L.E that will be But not too sure yet.. So I sign you up for another build? -Huxy

Hey huxy, I've got a 120mm Fallshirmjaeger on his way, a DUKW in the wings(literally), but no amrored car on tap. I do have a Brummbar in the mix. It is armored. I don't think I'd be the choice for a designer, I wouldn't want everyone mad at me! I did get the turret all buttoned up and repaired the lights. I thinned the bezels down to about half of what I had posted earlier, ordered some lenses for them. I'll install them after paint along with the antennae trough. Should be primed tomorrow and have a few pics up too. M0

I am not in this build but thought I'd post this. It's a link to Hobbycraft's new Hawk 75 with Norwegian Markings... http://www.squadron.com/ItemDetails.asp?item=HC1415 I assume someone is probably doing it but for what it is worth, all the best and good luck on your builds!
Cheers,
Matt

Mobious: Dukw on the wings? ?? What? Sounds so wrong... And 120mm? What scale would that be? Who made it? Recommend it? Thanks for that link! Very interesting, for sure! ![Smile [:)]](/emoticons/icon_smile.gif) If you find more, don't hesitate to post! (Check PM ) -Huxy

Well Huxy, got the primer on and it shows a few spots need attention, the tool box and you guessed it, the shovel holder. I forgot to sand the d*#n thing before attaching and don't know if the CA will loosen up the death grip on it. Anyway here are the pics I promised. Aside from the headlights and the tools this is a nice kit, There are some detailed weld seams that look pretty good. The link/length tracks were a snap to install. Both the 20mm & 7.92mm gun barrels are stock, I didn't have to drill them. After I put the TLC on the sore spots, I should be ready for paint. I haven't recieved the 120mm figure yet, but I figure it to be close to 1/16. 54mm I believe is close to 1/32 scale. Mobious

This is a nice idea, but I'm in a little over my head right now with other stuff. But... I have a set of Norwegian markings decals for the 1/72 Lockheed Lodestar, which probably would be useful for similar types, and I'd be happy to give them to anyone who sends me a PM. Otherwise they'll just go to waste. Bill

There's a problem with the kit? If so, let me know so I can correct it. Thanks.

the belly pan on the wings needs to be shimmed up to stop a step from happening . I have the masterclass video on building the 109 by Flyod Werner and can get the size off for you when I get a free minute. I checked an it is .005 ( 5 thousandths) also don't glue the tail plugs together, glue them two the fuselage parts it fits much better this way The video I found to be very helpful for my 109 and all the models I do know.
