Only 21 more days until we kick off this GB!  Hope you all are as excited as I am to get started.  I ordered some EZ line the other day for the rigging on my Nieuport 28, can't wait to try that stuff. Thumbs Up [tup]

Hey Daywalker, I think that this looks like a great one to join (I saw the first one and my eyes went, Boing! outta my head! awesome!!!!!), but I don't have a kit! Just so you know, I will join and will buy the kit when I have some dough! (look, it's not easy for a 14 year old to come up with wads of money...) Maybe I'll have to ask for a WWI plane for Christmas! I was thinking a Nieuport or Fokker Tri-plane. (blood-red paint of course!) Could you just put my name down with a little "?" after it? Thanks.

Paul- I'll be interested to hear about those Spada decals, have never heard of them before I went looking for Camel decals.

 hi daywalker,

i got my spada decals...........

the wood grain ones are fine,no issues,

but the camel ones(to be quite honest)are not very good.

the registry is slightly out on the roundels and another colour bleeds thru underneath, the edges are not solid in some places and are also pixalated(jagged edges).

to be honest i probably wont use them, which is a shame as the colour schemes are nice.

if anyone wants a high res image to see what i mean PM me with your email and i'll send you a copy.

Bummer about those decals, as they had some interesting subjects you probably won't find anywhere else. Sigh [sigh]  Thanks for the info!

Graham,

Build in the divine scale, 1/72.  Kits don't take up near as much room and are usually 30-50% cheaper than those other scales.  I picked 2 Roden 1/72 scale kits for about 20.00 last trip to the hobby shop.

Re: Knights of the Sky II- 1/1/09 to 8/31/09

Frank,

You have me down for the Airfix Pup, I hope to build both it and the Revell 1/72 Eindecker. I will start with the Eindecker since it is still in production and the pup isn't. It wasn't expensive but I got it on ebay from the UK.

I wonder why there aren't more models of the Sopwith Pup? It was an important plane of WWI, more so than many that you see modeled. It does seem there is a big bias toward German planes...  It's curious since in RC models there are gobs of Pups available...

Roger that!  I updated page 1 to reflect both the Pup and the Eindecker. Thumbs Up [tup]
