Well, I am definately in.  I received my ebay item today...I'll be doing the 1:144 B-2.  I had to open it to make sure it wasn't destroyed in shipment as the box was squished at one end...It looks like it survived for the most part, unfortunately the roof of the cockpit got smashed so the three tiny pieces that are the framework for the windows are all bowed out.  Oh well, at least it's here and I'm ready and eagerly awaiting our start date.....

Thats great.  Guys, get back to me with your confirmed builds when you can.  And the branch of service and your length of service too would be great.  I'll put it all on Page 1.

Veterans.

Just a friendly reminder that we are still good to go on July 1st.  Let me know if you have a confirmed subject.  I'm going camping for 2 weeks in the outback, so I'll be a long way from a computer.  See you when I get back !!

OK, put me down for a 1/35 HMMWV, since there is no  shelter carrier (M1037) kit out there and I dont feel like doing a long scratch build of a shelter like the one I was in charge of, I'll go with the basic M998 cargo/troop carrier that I occasionally utilized.

Just the excuse I'm looking for to do up my old gun section (the first one I chiefed, that is) in a diorama... Put me down for an Italeri M109A2 plus AFV M548 diorama from Charlie Battery- 3/3 FA, 2AD, circa 1984...  My freshly-sewn Staff Sergeant insignia still damp from the Wetting-Down a few days earlier, lol.. Never tried doing a figure of m'self... I can even use m' avatar as reference photo, lol...

Re: Military Veterans GB II

Hi guys, I would like to join with a 1/72 RoG Transall C-160. Only one problem....I already started to glue a few pcs together a while back before I shelved it due to move and havent touched it since.

As far as service goes 12 years German Air Force Lufttransportgeschwader 62 ( Air Transport Wing 62 for all of you out of towners). 6 years equipment shop and 6 years C/C.

Hans,

I thought that AFV Club also had a single-piece track set for the M-113, but I can not find anything in doing a quick search.  The AFV Club individual link tracks really are not that bad to put together, as I have had pretty good success with them in the past.

Ok.. Kit's are cracked open and I'm in the research phase (means I'm digging through 30 years of junk boxes looking for photos of my tracks) and will probably start putting glue to plastic by Momday the 6th..

First things first & all that, plus I'm gathering figure parts as well, since I need 8 1980's-era cannon-cockers... I should have bought a few more "modern" figures.  Means I'll be casting K-pots and M-17/M-25 pro-mask carriers too..  Doing 8 figures in Woodland camo too.. Gonna be fun, that is..

I served in the US Army and the Texas Army National Guard for just shy of 30 years and retired as a Master Sergeant.

Thats great guys- we are away !

Heres my Italeri Land Rover with the extra resin bits to make it into an Australian Army version, plus the resin General Service trailer that I used to tow with all my company clerk consumables for the CP.

Re: Military Veterans GB II

So now that the second season of Veteran GB is on the air I might as well get slowly started too (well I actually did a while back but dont tell nobody). Here she is the "Angel of the Skies" as we called her. Never lost a plane through mechanical failure in over 40 years and more than 500,000 flying hours. Unfortunately RoG shows the "new" 3-color camo on the box, but decals and instructions are only for the old camo and I havent been able to locate decals for the new camo yet. Anyway I will build her OOB since she is a pretty nice kit from the start and I will post pics of my progress as I go along.

Ok, here are the first shots of the plastic. These are just some pics to show the detail on this kit. The decal sheet has well in excess of 200 stencils which makes it a life long project in itself.

Part of the decal sheet (its about 8"x14")

Re: Military Veterans GB II

Joe,

Can I see some insignia from your unit LTG 62 on that decal sheet ?  It would be cool to have the markings from your unit.  I'm going to have to either handpaint/stencil mine, as decals dont exist.  200 stencils for that C-160 !!  Hope you have an optivisor.

Re: Military Veterans GB II

Wirraway, I do plan on using my old units markings. But it wont be any on the colorful anniversary Markings. I think Peddinghouse In Germany makes  a decal sheet celebrating the 500,000 flight hours and I think  it was celebrated in  my unit ( I was already in the States by then). And no I am not in the possession of an optivisor, still working with the squared eyesight tool.
