Re: Armor trivia

OK, try this one...

This is the Hagglunds Bv.206. What is this vehicle called IN U.S. SERVICE?

EDIT:

I mean US Army service. The vehicle serves in support roles in northern-climate areas.

corect though a sheridan is technically not a tank.

the third part is a real inside baseball question. the first m60A2's were deployed to 1-32 armor, 3AD in frieburg frg in april/may of 1975. the second unit, 3-33 armor (my unit), 3AD in kirchgoens frg got their new tanks in aug/sep 1975. two battalions also deployed with 1AD.

If the Sheridan is technically not a tank, what is it?

Re: Armor trivia

Right you are!

Wow, like a few of the other "askers" before me, I expected that to take longer than it did. There are truly some knowledgable folks here.

We drove SUSV's quite a lot in the 1/501 at Ft Richardson, AK in the early 90s. They're quick, light on snow, and ridiculously manouverable on just about any terrain.

Well Hermesminiatures, you're up!

Re: Armor trivia
technically the M-551 sheridan is an Armored Reconnaissance Airborne Assault vehicle.

Re: Armor trivia

In other words, light/medium tank. Just because it isn't a MBT doesn't mean it's not a tank...Smile [:)]

Ok, next question: What is this vehicle?

Re: Armor trivia

The carriage is that of a PaK 38 - although the gun is neither the 50mm or 76.2(r).
