Re: The Navy Air Wing Group Build

Back from vacation, thought I'd report in.  A good time was had by all.  Dad and I started off in Dallas with the ultimate destination of the Bloomington Gold Corvette Show near Chicago.  Made stops in Bowling Green KY to pay homage to America's Sportscar at the National Corvette Museum and toured the factory where they make the Vette (a bit disappointing, but they were just coming off they're 90 day break, but still cool).  Paid homage to the Greatest Spectacle in racing with a stop at the museum inside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  Got to Chicago a day early, so I dragged Dad to the Museum of Science and Industry to tour the U-505.  They won't let you take pics inside her unfortunately.  Good thing I'm not claustrophobic.  Spent two days wandering the show looking and drooling over some of the best Corvettes in the land.  Unfortunately, the only souveneirs I brought home from the show was a couple of books.  Didn't see Nam or the CAG on my travels, but did fill up on some good Chicago deep dish pizza and hotdogs.  Time to get back to the bench as Nats are around the corner and my builds are no where near complete.

Aaron,

Hope looks great.  The 1/144 Beast looks interesting to say the least (looks like someone squashed it when they were making the molds).  Something tells me Dee pounded the mail lady as you didn't tell us what was in the box.  Sorry I haven't mailed your figgies out to you yet.

Capt Billy Bondo sir,

Knowing your preference for building things in other than divine scale, is that the Modelcrap in 1/48 or is that the old divine scale Monogram kit?  Either way you're doing a bang up job on it.  Here's a link you might find interesting  www.maxair2air.com/09AIR/P-82/02.html

Thank you for that reference. In fact 1/72 is all I build in, otherwise my errors would be plain to see. Yes that is the Monogram kit, a true gem.

Men the CAG has buzzed the tower and we welcome his landing. Tomorrow is Friday I needn't remind you. Barge Captain Summit prepare the chains and muster a party to go ashore and return the man to the brig.

The Admiral dismissed his obligation, and yes sir that is what is was, to host the cocktail party, devolved it to a dog for God's sakes, and we are therefore left without a theme, so I'll propose it.

Red, White and Blue food. I want pictures and I want them by end of the second Dog watch on July 5th. I want to see ribs, I want to see beans, I want to see beer, I want to see boobs, I want to see cole slaw.

Otherwise it's the plank... you all know the term to decimate? One out of ten lads, one out of ten.

Muster up tomorrow, there's a Rum call.

Beggin the Capn's forgiveness, I thought (that could be the problem right there) that I saw you holding a box for the helo build in an unholy scale.  You're welcome for the reference.  That site is a good way to lose an hour or two.  While I second your call for pics of July 4 food, could we place a restriction on no man boobs?  While I've got a pretty nice rack, I don't think anyone would want to see them.

Richie,

You mean something like this?

The Vette in the pics is 435hp 427 big block and a Texas car to boot.  Judging by the shape of the engine compartment it looks like the owner was going for a survivor certificate.  One of the problem with going to such an event is that it's strengthened my hunger for one.  Thanks to that cursed site Craig's List, I've found a 69 big block coupe that might be affordable.  She's got some problems, but nothing that money can't fix.  If she goes below 17k, I'm gonna make a run at her.

Oh, man, whatever you do don't dis da dog! Ever since we had that great sausage the other day there's been no cats to chase the rats, and tho' da dog be slow, he's all we got!

Red white and blue food?  Surely a simple plate of vanilla ice cream with a topping of red peppers and blueberries will do the trick.

And the Admiralty did not without doo deeliberation pass the task off to the dog, as he did (or is that was?) volunteer(ed) and on this reeking wreck we have little o' that, and besides with this exalted rank had been destowed on me, well there is decorum to be considered, and until the grandkids return the ladder I am a little treed, sadly.

Mr. Summit, report smartly! I want a detail to go up the mast and rescue the flag officer. Three men with dirks in their teeth, and yes a dirk is a knife, the fourth with a clean pair of Depends.

Return him to the cabin immediately, the stew is on the bubble.

Has anyone seen Bruno?

Here are early results of the great RWB cookoff, and more to follow.

(While we wait for the piccies to download on Picassa, the Giants are beating the Astros 13-0. In the third. In the third. 13-0. Not Americas team, I guess. Wait, let me look. 13-0. In the 3rd.)

First to be cooked; the Teriyaki sandwich fixin's for the parade tomorrow. Add cole slaw with sesame oil to these bad boys, on those rolls and serve.

Giants 13, stars 0, bottom 4.

Next, the split dog cheddar spread, fries and Texas beans (Giants still winning) platter of junk, but it's the weekend and yes that dog is worried.

Last, the celebrity (OMG what a boob) chef who claims this mess, expressing her credentials.

See you on the 4th, men.

Hello matey's.  Happy 4th to all.  Sorry I have not been around lately.  The shoulder had me laid up for 2 months.  Almost back to full strength.  Hopefully will be back to the kits by the end of the month.  Going on vacation for 2 weeks.

JOHN

Re: The Navy Air Wing Group Build

Gentleman,

I have it on good authority that several TR-1's and a SR-71 that has been pulled out of retirement are headed towards merry olde England.  Their task is to find any evidence of home remodelling going on.  The NRO will then feed said info through their black boxes in the hope that the CAG's secret lair will be secret no more.

Per Captain's orders here's a pic of lunch (sorry dozed off after)

I didn't feel well, so I went to see the ship's nurse.

Dinner will consist of similar fare.  May need to see the nurse again.Mischief [:-,]

Re: The Navy Air Wing Group Build

John- Great to see you, it's been a long time!  Sorry your shoulder is taking so bloody long to heal, hope it's completely healed soon. Thumbs Up [tup]

Buddy- ACK!!!  I feel an illness coming on as well, better send that nurse over. Mischief [:-,]  I checked in with the NRO, and so far nothing has shown up on their photos.  It appears that the CAG takes TSWSIE's security VERY seriously, and has taken measures to conceal it's identity from prying eyes.  Perhaps it's time to send in the Special Task Force again...

Ah there be the CAG!  Mischief [:-,]

Johnny! Glad to see your  doing well! All settled in yet?  Really not the same with out seeing that Union Jack commenting !  Very Happy to see it again! Party [party]

Lewbud have you been digging in Dee's closet again? Mischief [:-,] I wonder where that Nurse outfit went off too! Laugh [(-D]

No food to show off here. Noise from the fireworks just woke me up.  Missed most the Holiday but have the night off as they don't want to pay the overtime.

5 engines 120 cars 8700 tons, 8100 feet long through downtown Houston last night and no relief crew today so just got it all put away in the nick of time. Would have been a mutany to block all those roads on the holiday! Dead [xx(]

Well hope everyone had a great holiday!  Sometimes I think getting a good nap is a grand celebration in itself! Alien [alien]

Ah  Hello all! Just swinging by cuz I promised the XO a few Linebacker Pics so he could compare the diff between the Bradley. Thought you may enjoy them as well so forgive the brief off topic if you would be so kind. Not that we would ever think of getting off topic here! Laugh [(-D]Make a Toast [#toast]Pirate [oX)]

Swordfish wise I caved and ordered a 1/72 to round out the group. and have still been casting molds and stuff to create some figures for the 1/32nd Stringbag!  Slow going but I like to crew them up!  Not much to show except for pink goo drying slowly.
