Stan -- what a FANTASTIC piece of work! If that's Hasegawa'a K-4 more or less out of the box, I'll be more than delighted. I'll be preening if I can get mine into the ballpark with yours! That said, I ordered up some stuff today, Express Masks for her and a sheet of K-4s from Eagle Strike on special at Squadron for comparison. I think I'll end up with more than one of these birds. Heck, I got a mixed sheet of Emils and Gustavs too. And threw in some post-war Spits for the hell of it... Well, all I need is some Schwartzgrau and I can get to work! Cheers, Mike/TB379

Hello Chaps!! I've not built a bandit before so I thought I'd start with this: From what I hear its a decent kit and I'm looking forward to getting stuck into it, however its my first 109, so be gentle with me! Auf Wiedersehen!

I am thinking I am going to get some decals for my K-4: But I can't decide which on to do. I like Black 15 and the one on the bottom, No. 5800. No. 5800 has a NMF underside which I thought was pretty cool. What do you guys think?

I think I will probably go with Black 15. I like the looks of it. Tango 1, are you going to make that G-10 into the high-altitude paint job of White 44?

Does anyone have these decals in 1/48 that they don't have plans to use? I would buy the sheet but for 1 set of markings... I have so many 109 sheets but not that one. It Eagle Cal #36. I have dozen to offer in trade. E's, F's G's, K's... Europe, desert, Battle of Britain etc.

Yes, I really like the simple paint scheme on White 44, I think its unusual for a '109. I hope I can do the kit justice, with a one colour paint job, I cannot go too wrong!

Wing nut let me look around some more. I have several sets of yellow 1 hartmann decals in 1/48, but only have white 1 in 1/32. I could have sworn I had that in 1/48 as well. That's my favorite hartmann 109. Warhammer I like the "black 15" the best as well. The late style lumpy camo is fun to paint. Thunderbold. I added some small scratchbuilt items on the exterior like gear indcators, oil and radiator actuator bars and brake lines. But the 1/48 hasegawa K-4 is a real nice kit. In fact just about all of hasegawa 109 kits are top notch.

Hi Phoenix -- So, there was minimal addition? She looks the part, she really does! Actually, I feel up to taking a crack at the gear indicators and brake lines, I'm pretty sure I have the right materials in hand, so I'll do a spot of research and see what I can come up with. Three-second question, is Tamiya XF-22 an equivalent to RLM 66??? Anybody have a clue? Cheers, Mike/TB379

Hi Frank, Are you positive? I was just looking at a color chart and it looked like XF-24 was the 02 match, XF-22 was given as a very dark gray. It was an old chart, though, and may have been mislabled! Hmmm, the rated Humbrol equivalents are Iron Grey and Tarmac, respectively... I'm looking for an acrylic to save lugging the gear outside to spray enamels. I'll have a chance to look into the LHS on Friday, I can make a comparison on the shelf. Cheers, Mike

Thnaks for looking Stan. The Yellow 1 you mentioned, That's the one on the smae sheet just above isn't it? Do you have more than 1 set, that was actually my 2nd choice. A bunch to offer in trade

Hi Frank -- Many thanks, I'll check 'em out! I wish I could HTH right now, but I'm using a graphics program to make custom instrument panel decals for the cockpit I've about half-done. If I can get the fuselage closed up the rest of the model will flow along easily, but I've only got a fortnight to go and there's patterning and casting to be done, as well as finishing another major conversion in the same timeframe. Late nights will probably be the rule for the next few weeks... Cheers, Mike

Hey everyone, it's the 27th in parts of the world so feel free to start your builds! If anyone cares to share any previous builds of late model 109s, feel free to share them here for inspiration! I would love to see them. ![Tongue [:P]](/emoticons/icon_smile_tongue.gif) Here's my 1/48 G-10 from earlier this year: Anyone else?
