BryneOut, According to the Squadron Publications "PzKpfw 38(t) in Action" the Ausf A was used in the battle for Poland and France. The Ausf B was in production from Jan. to May of 1940. I don't know what PD's were equipped with them. A caption under one of the photos states that all of Panzergruppe Hoth's PD's (7th,12th,19th, and 20th) were equipped with the 38s. Also a color plate of an Ausf A of the 3rd Liecth Div. in Poland. Don't know if any of this helps but ultimately it is Commandant Huxy's decision.

Lost the spare track, I knocked it off with my pinky and it vaporised. No trace. I may have hit it so hard that a molecular chain reaction occured, and all the molecules rearranged themselves into another form of matter, or maybe even antimatter....hmmmm?

Mobious, your build looks fantastic and the weathering storm as you put it, has yet to begin. Can't wait to see the finished pics!!

Just one question, what paints/techniques do you use to get that wood grain color on the tool handles?

Hey mg.mikael, On the shovel handles, I basecoat with an acrylic yellow/orange, trim with dark yellow/orange, drybrush with the same color as the trim, then apply a burnt sienna wash. On the jack block the same sequence was used except grain lines were painted in before drybrushing very lightly.

 Finally got the lenses done. It was a struggle on a massive scale nearly equal in effort as getting Armstrong to the moon. At least that's the way I experienced it. The first effort was constructed incorrectly and as a result, the lenses hazed very badly. After making the decision to rebuild them and alter the sequence of assembly, I also thinned them nearly half of their original appearance. The lenses I ordered were not clear as I had hoped, therefore new ones had to be built. This is where the story takes on the possibility of a black hole that resides somewhere near my hobby bench. I cut and sanded to shape at a ratio of 5:1 to cover the loses incurred by the voracious appitite of the roaming black hole. 8 ready to go lenses were lost. I also added Bronco wingnuts to the jack & the jack block hold downs. I like the Bronco set better than the MK set, just my opinion.

 mg.mikael, The comments are greatly appreciated. Looking forward to seeing the PzI progress. Looks like a very nice kit. The PzKpfw I is the only panzer I think I haven't built, yet...

 Kommandant Huxy, Thanks for the comments. The shovel is the kit supplied shovel. Next time I build a shovel holder it will be from brass. I could have trimmed more off of it without damaging it. The Bison decals specified the air recognition panels for this particular vehicle, I opted for the flag. The air recognition flags may have been used due to the "rushed" deployment of troops to Norway, possibly expecting Commonwealth intervention. The Squadron publications are a pretty good general overview of a subject. Usually identifying with photos major versions of a particular subject. I like them because they are 1. a good general reference  2. several nice color plates and 3. affordably priced. I was thinking of getting the "DUKW in action" also, along with a couple of aircraft titles.

 The "Wood" was basecoated with Vallejo Acrylics yellow ochre, shadow lines were added with Vallejo German cam. medium brown, then lightly drybrushed with the shadow color, finally an oil wash of WN burnt sienna was added.

Herr Kommandant Huxy, The shovel holder is too big. I may change it out for one built from brass in the future. The Fw190F8/9 would be the Tamiya kit.

I've seen it on tellie, and a bit with my own eyes.. Saw it when we passed over Blücher with the ship from Denmark   oil is still leaking from that cruiser..

But I'll look it up here and get back to you as soon as possible..

I can't really give you much info about Tristar kits, because this will be my first. However just from looking at the sprues though, I can tell you the detail is crisp, no flash, no bad molds, and no broken parts. Thus this should be nice build, since I won't have to do alot of extra work to fix pieces. And, yes it does come with a full interior, transmission, engine, etc.  Looks like the interior will take me awhile, since half of those pieces on the sprues go inside.
