Ok by me but it makes me ask the question...., Is constipation really procrastination? I bet if Bondo was here he could tell me.

Sean, I think yours looks great. I keep looking at that kit. Thinking this will be a test bed for panel scribing and some other things I want to try. Well done![Thumbs Up [tup]](/emoticons/icon_smile_thumbsup.gif)

Thatsa pretty little bird. I like the way you masked the canopy and the tailwheel caster. Cool!

Bill, Aaron and Harvey, welcome to the No More Excuces GB. Great to have you guys. Remember the start date is 15 Dec, that is if you want to start on that day![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/icon_smile_wink.gif) Matt, your stuff looks great I have the Revell/Monogram Huey in my stash. How did it go thogether? Bill, Alex was right. If your build belongs to an active GB hold off on it. If the GB is over or has died off, then by all means bring them in. What scale is the AN-12? Harvey, the 105 looks great, BTW what scale is it? Dave, I love the badge My votes for it also.

According to the rules on page one, as long as the kit isn't from a Group Build that is still "active" then the kit qualifies. Most of my builds for this GB are from GBs I ran out of time on due to over commitment and life getting in the way. Accurate Miniatures 1/48 Helldiver - Battle of the Atlantic Hasegawa P-38F - South Pacific GB Pro-modeller Ju 88 - Bombergruppe GB Tamiya 1/35 Semovente - Light tanks GB Tamiya 1/48 Bf 109E7 - Battle of the Meditteranean Dragon 1/35 Elefant - Elefant GB
oh, and one I forgot - Revell 1/48 Me 410 for a Luftwaffe GB, can't even remember what it was now. LOL

Roy, From what I remember, the Huey kit went together ok, I remember the windscreen being a bit thick and a chore to get in. It is a bit of a tail sitter so you should add a bit of weight to the nose. The Decals are very thick and took a bunch of setting agent to get them to conform to any surface. It is a typical older revell/monogram kit. If you take your time and and have some patience it will turn out nicely. I built this one rather quickly back in the fall of 06, and it has been sitting on my shelf looking as it is in the picture. Matt

Matt, yea I notice the decals are on the thick side. I have an old Eduard PE set for it plus some Super Scale decals. Some day I'll get around to it. Do you fly or crew blackhawks? One of my younger brothers is a W4 and have been flying for 18 years now. He just finished fixed wing school in AL. Just wondering.

Hey, Wyoroy, I had a question. Can we use second or third-hand kits? My friend gave me a kit about a year ago that somone had given to him. The first person had already started assembling small portions of the kit and there is some paint on there as well. I have to go through my cluttered stash again but I think that it is 1/16 F-16 cockpit. AMT is I remember straight. Now I think Italari has re-boxed the kit. Can I enter it in? Thanks. Graham (Edit: IT's 12th scale.)

Thank you Roy & Bill (Bondo) It is a clean build, but I like to sometimes actually build OOB . I feel the need to build a few this way to relax and not stress over details. This quality of this kit really was not worth super detailing or weathering. One of the things to watch out for the wing structure is very weak. If you pick it up by the wing it will flex enough to crack any filler. That problem could be solved with a few pieces of sprue or styrene inside the structure. (Next Time ) The open canopy does not have a perfect fit , but the closed one fits very nice. I taped it over and used it for a mask during the painting. The kit has decals for three varients and you can build wheels up or down. Edit - The plastic is really thin, I would not try scribbing on this one.

Tip for the Week What in the world ? You are most likely thinking... This is my little cheat method I use for painting props on the aircraft. We all like thos spinny things to spin right ? But they require assembly early in the process so if you paint ahead of time they get scuffed, scratched , splattered - (Roy ) Painting the props is one of my last steps, I take a piece of paper and cut a splice up the middle. Sometimes with 1/32 I will cut a small circle a little smaller then the prop shaft. 1/72 & 1/48 I dont. Take the paper and slide it over the shaft to where the spinner is shimmed away from the cowling. Tape the split up, fold the excess back to where the prop rotates and paint away. If you need a different colored spinner - paint it first and mask off when dry.

Roy - It is a really old school basic method , I thought about you when I was prepping the Heinkel. Even though your little mishap was unrelated. Here is the finished props, Next up decals , glass, and landing gear ![Propeller [8-]](/emoticons/icon_smile_propeller.gif)
