Darren-

8 years and it still looks great!  Not sure how much help I'll be in this GB, kind of a WWI newbie myself.  Looks like we all will be asking Mike for help. Big Smile [:D]

I built a Sopwith Camel when I was about 9 years old.  Other than that one (which got blown up by firecrackers a LONG time ago!), This will be my first one!

Re: WWI GB idea 10/1/2007 'till 10/1/2008

I had built one before, but that was really playing around with a old $5 testors kit. It was so old, it still had molded on decals ridges on the wing.

So yes, this will be my first biplane - I had 2 sitting in my stash for a few years, everytime I take it out and thought about the rigging, I put it back.

I built a Fokker Dr.1 and a Spad XIII when I was a kid (hmmm.... 30+ years ago?).  It's been so long that I could probably get away with saying this will be my first real attempt at doing a WWI aircraft.  Shock [:O]

Re: WWI GB idea 10/1/2007 'till 10/1/2008

Won't be my first, but maybe I'll try for more "Authentic" colors.  All of these have been travelling with me since 1969 or earlier.  I know I built the Dr.1 then, my roommate at the time Paul Wagner, built the Camel that matched in Roy Brown markings, but of course the Dr.1 had the Werner Voss decals.  Seems we couldn't keep our history very straight, Wagner flew the Camel, Eaton flew the Triplane?  What's up with that!

I'll just have to type faster Marc, and use more than two fingers. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Guys, I have the utmost confidence in your skills to produce some fine-looking models for this GB, especially when I consider what I've seen in the past from all of you. I'm sure many will blow my builds right out of the water! The skills and patience required you all have. Get your hands on some good reference pics and you're good to go (but I'll always be around to answer any questions you may have). Thumbs Up [tup]
