Re: 1,000 Roadwheels - 2009

A little update, found some time to make it to the bench without sleeping(because of all the lost sleep worrying about my employment and that of friends and family). I've got the zimm nearly finished and test fit the upper and lower hull. It is a little out of whack, but nothing to great. I decided to go with the kit main gun and save the Jordi barrel for a Hetzer that has been sittin in the stash collecting dust. Anyweigh, just a shot of where the jag is parked.

 A shot of the Jagdpanzer

" border="0" />  The hull has not been fixed yet. I will add the zimm after the 2 halves have been joined. A few more tools to add to the rear deck, a muffler and spare roadwheels too. Should have this one in primer soon. I did change out the front plate for one that was included in the Brummbar kit. I liked the mg port better than the one I'd scratched. Still considering adding the muzzle brake for the main gun.

Hey espins1, Thanks for the comment, it's appreciated greatly. Looking forward to seeing the PzIV command version you are planning for this GB.

Re: 1,000+ Roadwheels - 2009

Thanks for the comments Panzer88 and psstoff. The figures are from Alpine. They're the SS tankers. I'm not too positive if the uniforms would have been issued to PzJag crews or not. They are wearing camo coveralls. I still need to add the headsets and get that gunner's backend on the deck a little better. Anywey, Thanks for checking up and the comments, both are greatly appreciated.

A few shots of the SdKfz162 in primer.

Still attaching the headsets to the crewman and some minor clean up.

Re: 1,000+ Roadwheels - 2009
LOL, I started the paint this morning with a preshade of Dark Brown, while I was trimming the areas on the engine deck I'd realized I'd left off the angle piece between the upper and lower rear plates. Oops, and I thought the intructions were just guidelines not actual rules. The JgdPzr is looking a bit like a genetically confused zebra now. I'll try to get photos up later. Thanks psstoff for looking in.

Mobious: Sweet work on that zim'!  I scrolled back and saw that was scratched...NICE!  I like the fig's too...great poses, they should really compliment the tank when it's done.

Thanks SMJ, I appreciate the comments and vote of confidence. The Alpine figures are nicely cast and the sculpting is superb. I'm looking forward to starting on them soon. I'm also looking to add a Falshirmjaeger on foot, but haven't located a suitable project in the stash yet. Thanks for checking in.

Re: 1,000+ Roadwheels - 2009

A shot of the JgdPz and crew. I fitted the headset/throat mikes and associated wiring. The headsets and mikes are from the Tasca German Star Antenna Set, and are worth mentioning because the Alpine figures didn't include them.

The Balkenkruez is from Archer Transfers and forms right up tight to the zimm surface with a little pressure from the finger straight to decal. The color plate of the vehicle this is based on has no vehicle ID markings or National insignia, I just opted to use artistic license and add the crosses to break up the big flat surface. The vehicle itself belonged to 9SS PzJag Abt, 9SS Pz Div, II SS Pz Kp near Arnhem Sept. of 1944.

I still have clean up on the Alpine figures before I can start painting.

Re: 1,000+ Roadwheels - 2009

First off great work everybody!!!!!!!!!!!Bow [bow] I finally got access to a camera today so I've been going nuts taking pics of my projects. Here's one my projects that I've finally finished for this group build, the Panzer IV mi Schmallturm. This one almost got booted across the room on more than one occasion. I figure out/fix one problem, then there would be another waiting for me. A lot of TLC and patience, some scratch building and raiding the spares box went into this beast. Here she is.

Re: 1,000+ Roadwheels - 2009

Very nice work, Panzer88. A great job on the camo. Thumbs Up [tup] I can relate to the aggravation. The gunners headset unfastened it self and jumped to it's demise during painting. had to stop and fix that before moving on. After taking a series of shots I noticed it had worked loose again and was floating like a beenie.Propeller [8-] Your SchmallTurm PzIV turned out excellent and worth the effort, Thanks for sharing your efforts.

I nearly broke my camera taking photo's of the JgdPz crew. Didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped. Anyway here is a photo of the crew.

I'll do the shoulderboards later, I've got stuff on the JgdPz to still address.
