Privet!![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/icon_smile_wink.gif) Heres the latest on my trumpeter KV2... All assembly, apart from installing the towing cables (real brass wire is supplied), is done and everything is ready for the first coat of paint . Building went smooth and mostly without problem apart from the track tighteners. I would have preferred a somewhat more sturdy design here... Also the only thing i, personally, didn't agree with is the gun barrel... In retrospect i would have wanted a metal or aftermarket one... But all things considered (great kit for a great price) im am very satisfied sofar. Building time at this point has been somewhere around 8 hours. Turret (good heavens what a juggernaut...):
And for the picture i installed it on the hull wich has received its sideskirts and stowage boxes and some other bits and bobs...:
Untill next time!![Thumbs Up [tup]](/emoticons/icon_smile_thumbsup.gif) Richard

When building the upper hull I came across a lapse from the instructions. While there is an option to to use either a plastic engine grill dragon also supplies a lovely PE grill. The lapse is here, in the pack with PE parts is also a piece of printed cardboard not mentioned at all in the manual. My best guess is that its goes under the grill as a picture of engine parts as oppossed to leaving a window to an empty hull

Konigwolf, Very interesting T34 to see being built . I still have fond memories of the Tamiya T34 model 42 i built a while ago. This is dragons model right? Before i go ahead and finish my KV2 by trumpeter without having showed some inbetween pics i could stop myself for a minute just now to show a little update on this very nice kit . The model almost builds itself. I have sprayed the green colour, proceeded with white and rust colored drybrushes and applied a black and rust colored wash afterwards. First pic is a bit blurry, sorry. Next up are the decals for the turret and toning the heavy rust wash down with some pigment powders and chalks, attaching the tow cables and fitting the tracks. Kermit, yes shes the dragon kit Well have been working alot on the girl, almost all being the tracks. I must of fudged something somewhere as I had to insert an extra link on one side for it to join, otherwise this has been a very enjoyable build. Only have to do all the small pieces then choose what paint scheme to. Andrew

Hello All Sorry, have been away so long. Family, school and such, you know. Anyway, I have updated the badge on the main post to hopefully fit in with your other badges. If it still seems to big feel free to reduce the size or let me know and I'll do it. Decided I need to get on this right away as I noticed that Kermit (Richard) and Konigwolf13 (Andrew) are moving along at a good pace. And those builds are looking AWESOME, guys. Remember, once your done feel free to grab and add the badge. See ya Scott

Yay!! I'm done Oooh and i believe im even the first to finish a model for the group??![Tongue [:P]](/emoticons/icon_smile_tongue.gif) Ok, done the weathering and fitting of the tracks, as well as the decalling. Considered a mud coat for a minute but i like it the way it turned out like it is![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/icon_smile_wink.gif) Behold, trumpeters 1/35 KV-2: And for the peeps who have never seen my models yet: I always include a sepia tone for creating a bit of a mood :

Kermit WOW! I like this "Kermified" tank ! Your washes really made the detail pop and the weathering isnt over done at all, I find most tanks over done. I really like how the rivets came out and the tracks too. Very well done. I have never done a tank before and have thought of doing a Sherman in 1/48 might have to really give it some thought now. Ya dun good my friend. Oh hey my son in law is starting to build too !! Cant wait to see what he does.

Randy, Thanks my friend. You will find it is sometimes a welcome deviation to build a tank inbetween as you can build and glue without painting for most of the time. It relaxes me when i dont feel like painting and cleaning my airbrush![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/icon_smile_wink.gif) This tank cost me around 20 hours to build (a weeks worth of evening building time). Alot shorter than most of my aircraft. And ofcourse i used my trusty watercolors, tamiya weathering set and chalk pigments for the weathering. Wanted a rusty tank.... Richard

Hey All Here is my first WIP pic for my Tamiya T-62A. I decide to try duplicating the cast texture on the turret. And after some trial and error found that by stripling Squadron Green putty on then grinding it down with a bit in my Dremel I got a decent (not great) approximation. I am also replacing the kit grab handles with ones made for brass rod. So anyway here is the pic: Any suggestions for improvement, please feel free. See ya Scott

Scott, Thank you for your comment. It was a fun build to do. Your T62 is coming along great and i think that your added texture will look great once it is painted and weathered up . Hats off for some nice scratching/ bashing there![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/icon_smile_wink.gif) Would like to do another one for this group... It would be either a 1/72 scale Mig 21 or a 1/48 scale SU 25 frogfoot... What would you guys like to see? Oh, also made myself a bit of a new banner showing the various builds i did for the groups i participated in sofar. Richard

Hey Richard How about a MiG-21? SubRevolution is doing a SU-25 already not that someone else cannot do the same. But we don't have a MiG-21 on the list yet. Just my . And love the banner!!! How do you do that? See ya Scott

Ok, talked to my other half too and made her pick the one i was going to do. Showed her the Frogfoot, the Mig and a FW190 i never got around to start on and she chose the Mig as well![Smile [:)]](/emoticons/icon_smile.gif) So The Revell 1/72 Mig 21 it is... Lets get started right away, shall we![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/icon_smile_wink.gif) The boxart: Sprues and clearparts: And a quite extensive decalsheet for Eastern German, a bunch of finnish and a soviet Mig: Guess the Mig21 needs no introduction as we all know its familiar shape and appearance. A thing some of you might not know is that this particular jet is the single most produced one in the world after WW2. Designed in the fifties it still saw combat action as late as 1999 (!) Oh, and Randy, it will be NMF...![Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]](/emoticons/icon_smile_swg.gif) Anyways, looking forward to make a nice start on it and see you guys soon![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/icon_smile_wink.gif) ![Thumbs Up [tup]](/emoticons/icon_smile_thumbsup.gif) Richard
