OK, got the stickers on, combination of Sky Decals "Bf 109 in Italian Service" and decals from the kit. They all went down beautifully. The wing Balkankreuz will be over-sprayed with dark olive green and the Italian insignia will be applied.

Mike, looking sweet. ![Thumbs Up [tup]](/emoticons/icon_smile_thumbsup.gif) The K is almost done. I've attached most of the sticky out bits, just need to attach the canopy, the gunsight, the DF loop and a small Fug antenna on the aft fuselage. But here are some pics in the mean time. The canopy will be open when finished as it's slightly too wide at the rear to match the fuselage profile. Karl

Moving right along... The tail wheel was smooth hunk of plastic where the protective leather boot should be, lead foil to the rescue. Wadded it up into a ball to give it some contours and then glued it to the tail wheel: And then finished product, much better!: Exhaust stacks were drilled out, would have like to have gone thinner but was afraid of going through the side wall: Wash and flat coat applied, some of the other major components installed, starting to look like a 109! I have some silvering on the wing insignia, can't seem to get rid of it which is real frustrating.

Frank -- I'm with the others on this, anything you line up will be met with glee! I have three Tamiya 262s on the shelf, I've put some extra 109s and 190s in the stash, though late model 190s have been a bit of a pain to get hold of. I'm sure i can come up with a suitable subject for any Reich Defender II you'd like to field! I got the soft-masks onto the fuselage of my K-4 and have a photo, and I'm hoping to lay the 75 onto the fuselage today. You never know, if I get the bit in my teeth I might try to press on and do the green as well, then I'd be looking at touch-ups as needed and into the final stretch. Mike

Frank, Here's a couple of ideas I've had floating through my head: 1. "Bf 109, The Early Years", this would cover everything we didn't in this one; the A up to the G-4. 2. "Luftflotte Ost", this would cover the Luftwaffe and perhaps the other co-belligerents on the Eastern Front (Hungary, Finland, Romania, etc.) Anyway, if it's Luftwaffe I'm in!

Well I have lots of 109's Early and late. And lots of other Freakish things Like the BV 189A and B. The BV Whats that odd warped looking thing Frank? And then a 262 a couple 1/48 FW-190's not Tamiya ones and Even some of the He 112 and The Sea version of the 109. Then you have the Do 335 versions and Don't get me started on the bombers! Even a couple of the 1946 stuff. Oh the Humanity! Why don't we all just build a Battleship? ![Laugh [(-D]](/emoticons/icon_smile_newlaugh.gif)

Here's my two cents. #1 I'm partial to making a 262 build because its one of my favorite aircraft and I've got an extra kit of it in the stash. I've also got the V056 prototype which I'd like to strip down and rebuild because I didn't do it justice the first time around. #2 I raised it earlier... but it might be fun to do an "Aces" build of 109 (possibly extending it to 190s as well.) There certainly were alot of 109 aces; Galland, Marseille, Rall, Barkhorn and Hartmann. That would open it up to an entire range of 109s, from early war to the end (think Marseille in his F-4 for example). Only problem is that some people might be turned off by the extra research required... but several makers do have ace kits, like Finemolds for 1/72.

Well I have been eyeing more 109s in my stash... but I am gonna tackle a 190 next... whatever you decide on, I am willing to partake in.

The Luftwaffe Aces sounds good, gives some other options besides 109's, not that you really need any, mind you...
