For all IDF fans (M113 experimental)

Well, here's an update of my latest project: M113 HVMS... That's what I've done: The gun barrel is a piece of sprue from the Italeri Sd. Kfz. 234/3, I made the hole with a screw driver. The gun mantlet and part of the fume extractor were made out of plastic card, sanded to shape as required, the coaxial MG is stretched sprue, I made the hole with a fine point blade, the fume extractor itself, and part of the main gun canvas cover were made out of epoxy putty, and the other part of the gun's canvas cover is a piece of straw (I don't know how to call it in English, but in Spanish we call it cañita, sorbete, popote or pajilla). The turret, the turret roof and the rear fuel tanks are made out of plastic card, and you're not wrong, one of the holes in the turret (the right one), is a little forward that the other, that was what my plan show. I used the kit's rear lights, I only made the base, the wiring and the cover. I only have to made all of the details like hooks, periscopes, hatches, hinges, etc. but the basic shape is ready... This is the last update I'll post, because when I finish the details, I'll inmediatelly give it to the owner, a real IDF maniac... I hope he let me take pics from the finished model, so I'll post them in the forum... Hope you like the pics... As always, comments and suggestions are welcome. Most regards.

Reminds me of a Bradley or Warrior.  Interesting concept though, and not inconveiable either.  Saying that, I won't be surprised if there was a tank/APC based around a Centurion tank hulk.  Good luck with the project!

Re: For all IDF fans (M113 experimental)

I forgot!... The kit provided side skirts were not adequate for this version, so the owner of the kit gave me spare side skirts from a Tamiya M113, these side skirts have the correct shape, but don't have the half-moon shaped hole (I think it's a step for the driver), so I made it and re-located the locating pins in the inner side of the side skirts, so they can fit in the hull indentations. Thanks a lot for the replies. Best regards.
