Build Time: 38H Assembly Time: 12 Hours Painting and Weathering Time: 26 Hours Aggregate Build Time: 38 Hours Figure Build: Figure Assembly & prep: 4 hours Figure painting: 4 Hours Aggregate Build Time: 8 Hours Thanks Chris, Guney, Marc and Rob for stopping by and leaving a comment it's always appreciated. I managed to mostly complete the face and tried my first oil pin washes thanks to Andy. I basecoated the entire figure and am ready for highlights and shawdowing. I faded and contrasted the tunic and trousers to portray a more realistic well used uniform. Here is where I am at the moment:

Thanks Chris I used Deck Tan to lighten the Field Grey base coat for the tunic and used German Uniform Green for the trousers, and Leather Brown for the Belt and Brown Black for the boots. I used a Sunny Skintone for the skin basecoat and it turned out more yellow than had anticipated. I should of used a more basic flesh tone I think. I will see what I can do to fix it. Andy PM inbound more questions!!!

I am trying Bill that's for sure. I did drill out the muzzle but I ended up drilling to far and messing up the barrel. I rebuilt it with Milliput and will try again!

You know what, I have given you so many compliments about your models that I can not think of any new compliments to give you, I guess that says something about your work! Just as amazing as usual, Jim.

Oh yeah, What did you use to drill out the muzzle of the MG-34? I used an X-acto knife to drill out the barrel of a MG-42. Thanks, Jim

Hey Jim you are a really cool kid thank you for the continued support my friend. I was using a pin vise and the muzzle is flared at the end and I ended up drilling one side out. I will be more careful next time. Build Time: 38H Assembly Time: 12 Hours Painting and Weathering Time: 26 Hours Aggregate Build Time: 38 Hours Figure Build: Figure Assembly & prep: 4 hours Figure painting: 6 Hours Aggregate Build Time: 10 Hours I toned down the sunny yellow of the flesh base coat and drybrushed all the components of the figures. I have not done any shadowing as of yet so here is where I am at the moment. Manny: If you have any suggestions on shoulder boards and such please advise.

Thank you very much! I see why the muzzle broke with that pin vice, try the trusty old X-acto knife next time. I have used it on a couple of different things like that and it has never let me down! Thanks, Jim.

Thanks for the tip Jim and you are most welcome. I hope my son turns out as polite and level headed as you are.

LOL! Thanks for the thought Bill that's really cool of you, but unfortuantely the MG is molded around his hand and came with the figure. I was able to repair the mistake and just have to be more careful. I am looking for an extra antenna mount for the rear of the 38H because that vehicle came with two antennas and the kit only came with one mount. if you have one of those in your spare box I could definately make use of it.

For this to be #5, I'm impressed. You obviously have a pretty fast learning curve; that goes double for the figure and machine gun. When you get to 100..... that should be a real treat.

Wow Steve that is a very kind and encouraging thing to say! Faces on figures I have to say has been my biggest challenge so far. I knew that if I didn't get into figures as soon as possible my ego would prevent me from adding them to my work if the disparity between my AFV's and figures got too great so I am going through the pain. Well it's a love hate thing actually. I actually really enjoy painting figures and I am jsut addign the finishing touches to one right now, but there is no getting around that it just takes practice. Andy (Bodge) has been PMing me some advice but it still is trail and error. My next mini-project after I am done with this one is to paint a batch of heads and post it in the figure section and share the process step by step so I can get pointers.
