Re: Knights of the Sky WWI GB 9/29/2007 to 12/31/2008

Greetings Frank & Justin.  Thanks for the kind words.

Yes these will be commercially available in the near future. There is a small company that started this venture about a year and a half ago.  They are about to go public in the near future I am told.  I helped with the colour data and they have been picking my brain about what might sell and what is just a gimmick.

That is good news!  Good lozenge decals are nearly impossible to find, especially the four color.  When those are released, I will be buying a few sheets. Thumbs Up [tup]

Beginning with the 5 colour.  Note the cut lozenge strip under the cradle for the top wing.

ANother stunner Stephen!  Perhaps you mentioned it earlier, but what methods are you using for your texturing?  I really like the effect, and would like to try it on my next one.  Thanks for sharing, I updated page 1 for you! Big Smile [:D]

Thanks for that link Stephen.  I bookmarked it so I can read it in it's entirety tonight when I get home.  I quickly scrolled through it, and those Albatros and Fokker DVII models by Brad are awesome!  Thanks again. Approve [^]

 Hello,

Stephen, that is a fantastic build. stunning effects with the texture and the lozenge decals. very nice work.

Daywalker, Had to peek my interest in the SPAD. I've been wanting one for a while and it looks like a great kit.

Here'a a pic of my 2nd attempt at the Roden DVII. I'm ashamed to post it after Mr. Lawson's build, but here it is...

I shouldn't try to weather these aircraft like armor! Had a heck of a time with these decals. They were really thin a came apart easily.

 OBTW, I clicked the button!

 Best Regards,

I was researching my project on Revell 1/48 Sopwith Camel from germany, i have two question since im not sure and need ur help.

as for black thread (a wire that attached to the wings/wheels and so on) is there any simple way for me to do it,  i have no clue since i look at some of ur pictures, and i have no idea of how to do it.  should i attach the black thead once the model is all compete or before its compete such as putting the top wings on it?

second question   what is the color for the bottom wing of the camel?  let me know thanks

The old Aurora now Revell/ Monogram Sopwith Camel has bee around for many years. Predrill rigging holes.  Rig it once together. For the bottom its CDL clear doped linen.  Think of it as a "sail colour" or unbleached linen.  Check out some preshading ideas to enhance it.

Stephen,

Once again I thank you for your response to my question on the rib tape.  I also enjoyed the link to the information on weathering the lozenge covered aircraft.  What fantastic work! Bow [bow]

Mobious,

I was wondering how well the Eduard Nieuport went together.  I have the release with the PE parts included in my ever-growing stash.

 Hello MPS,

The Eduard Nieuport kit went together without a hitch. A fun build. Would recommend this kit for someone starting out in Biplanes, such as myself. Approve [^]

They're herrrrrrrre!  See the gallery for the higher res images of my builds. Here is the owner's (Mr. Tom Sollers)  final comments on the subject.

The site went live this morning. The URL is http://www.MicroSculpt.com.

Thank you once again for all your support and time!!! . . .I already have a sheet of Fokker serials partially designed. Feel free to pass along anything you would like to see. I am open to suggestions.

Future release schedule will depend on sales. I've about squeezed my wallet as hard as I can. I'll need some return in order to go forward.

Keep your fingers crossed.

Cheers!

Tom
