Does anyone know if the Littlefield collection of tanks, etc. in Portola Valley, Cal. is open to the public? Any details?

does not sound like it.
Yes it is open to the public.
I contacted Mr. Littlefield last year to arrange a tour that never got anywhere. I just couldn't get anybody to go with. He emailed me personally and was quite cordial even answering a question I had about his Sdkfz 251. I could be wrong, as I have since lost these emails, but I think the cost of a tour was about $60. Again, I could be wrong.
I still have his email address if you would like it. PM me.

Yes, you just have to call ahead to make the arrangements. I went last year with 3 buddies from IPMS Reno High Rollers. It is totally worth seeing!
When we were there, the crew was about halfway done restoring the Panther (which was featured on a Tank Overhaul Episode... way cool ) I'm going back once they're finished with the restoration.
p.s. I set a new record for the number of photographs taken there in a single outing.

It is there, I took a bunch of pictures of it. I'll share out a photobucket album with all the pics in it when I get home.
I guess he has the ULTIMATE "stash" ;)
Google his name or "Jacques Littlefield's Tank Collection", you will find dozens of pages and pics from people who have visites his tank park...
Here are a couple pics of the Panther in the Jaques Littlefield collection undergoing restoration which I took last summer. This Panther was also featured as one of two being restored in an Episode of Combat Garage. Because it was in the workshop I couldn't get back far enough to get a picture of the whole thing. You can see the rest of the photos by clicking the link below.

Awww! I am jealous!
Man, you're not kidding about being jealous.
Scott, next time I happen to find myself in California, I'll let you know...I'll head over there with you!
The Littlefield Collection is open for group tours on Saturdays with the times generally being 10am and 1pm. Weekday times are not available as there is generally nobody available to provide tours. The tours are scheduled by contacting Mr. Littlefield thru his website:
Littlefield Collection Contact
Since he is the only one who answers the emails to the site, responses can be haphazard at best. Generally, there are no more than two tours scheduled per time slot with a preferred group size of no more than 25-30 people. There are no facilities at the collection other than a couple of bathrooms. It is not geared for kids as there is really nothing for them to do there. Individuals who want to visit the collection are added to the tours if space is available. The tours are free of charge.
For those wanting to see more of the Panther restoration, I've been covering it on my site for several years now. Pictures can be seen at Littlefield Panther Restoration pg 1
Also, if you visit my site, Toadman's Tank Pictures you'll be able to see more of the collection as I have photographed nearly every vehicle that is on display in his museum. I'll be adding more pics later this weekend as I am going back there again.
Nice to see the Panther is far along in the restoration! They've even got camo on the hull!
Do you have any idea when they're hoping to have the project completed? I want to go back and see it when it's done.

Hopefully this summer. They've added the schurzen to it since my last visit. I'm hoping to get another 200-300 pics of it this Saturday along with more of the Sherman Jumbo restoration.

Going to see the Panther after it is finished would be an excellent excuse to leave Iowa!
