How About Some 1/35 or 1/48 Sci Fi Figures?
Now I know some of you build stuff other than Imperial Walkers and Gundam.  How about we get some 1/35 Sci Fi kits like the WWII and modern warfare stuff?  How about a 6 pack of Cylons to go with your Raider? Or an "Attack on Hoth" set with Stormtroopers in winter gear.  Want to do a legion of Stormtroopers?  Buy a 1/35 builder pack with weapons and add ons (like Sandtrooper gear).  The possibilities would be endless, and it would be nice to have the actual stuff instead of trying to modify a 1/35 Marine Tank Officer to look like an Imperial Officer.

I second that! Twice!

The U.C. Hardgraph series of kits has some 1/35 soldiers and crew in them, but a lot of them are specific characters.

Generic multi pose infantry and crew would be awesome, and I bet they would be snapped up too. A ground crew for an X-wing. Maintenance staff for any gundam. Just good quality pilots for MaKs (1/20 scale, I know...).

Equipment too; cargo crates, maintenance scaffolding and ordinance moving vehicles.

I've been building sci-fi since I was little, and as time goes by the models and options just keep getting better, so we may actually see some of this stuff.

Hopefully before my eyes give out...

I like the Gundam trailers in the EX line.  But I dont think they have people with Them.  Now that you mention it it does seem wierd that the only Gundam figures are the few Hard Graph kits.  And I've never seen Star Wars ones, but I haven't been looking.  We should email Bandai.

There should be some 1/48 scale sci-fi figures for sale by the end of the year from http://www.studiostarforge.com. At the moment Studio Starforge is concentrating on 1/72 to go with a lot of the Finemolds and other garage kits in that scale that's out at the moment. Here's hoping Finemolds brings out some more 1/48 scale scifi subjects!

For the larger scale, there's the 1/35 X-Wing and ground crew set from Kotobukiya, if you haven't seen it already. It looks amazing. Check it out here: http://www.hlj.com/product/KBYSW-43

Yea, you can get more in 1/48, but its to small for my liking, 1/35 is a perfect size.  I really dont know why all companies avoid it.  They really should make everything in a universal scale, find something like 1/40 or something for tanks, soldiers, planes, etc.  Or line stuff up with train gauges, its such a female dog trying to find stuff you want sorting through all the wrong scales.

Its like companies sat down and said, ok, modern and WWII will be 1/35 ancient to napoleon will be 1/72, planes will be 1/48, mechs will be whatever random scale you want, and trains lets just cover the board but not make anything match up with the rest.

some of the older MG gundam kits came with 1\20 scale figures that were cool, and all of the MG kits come with 1\100 scale figs that look great in dios. I have to say though, if you are just going to do figures, you may want fo look in the Figures forum.

On the to do list - A crapload of Gunpla, and 1\48 F-8 Crusader, 1\48 F4U Corsair.

The reason is that it's actually not a perfect size. The issue for a lot of people is one of space they can allocate in their living space for model display. Basically you can fit more in, in the smaller scales. For some people, smaller scales allow them an opportunity to show off different modelling skills. For the manufacturer, they also cost less to make and market. People have different expectations and uses for their models, and hence there are different scales.

Hasegawa is supposed to start releasing models in the Maschinen Krieger line, starting w/ a Falke in 1/20. Its supposed to have crew and accessories included.

Hasegawa's public announcement:

And HLJ has some pics on their site:

After that, there is some talk that they will release other vehicles in the series, either in 1/20 or 1/35, but as far as I know, that's still just a rumor.
