the Gunslinger /post-apoc vehicle

I figure this probably belongs here more than any other subject forum. This was built for a post-apoc build off on the SA forum. It was a heck of a lot of fun to build. It was built with whatever I had in my parts boxes but the gun and ammo box are scratched.

Here's a link to the WIP shots http://s53.photobucket.com/albums/g73/Jantrix/Gunslinger/

Re: the Gunslinger

I really like it. Wheels are cool, did they come w/ it, or from somewhere else? How did you make the bullet holes?

I've been toying w/ the idea of doing something similar w/ a truck for years, but I never seem to get around to it. Any advice?

Thanks for posting CosmicJ. The Gunslinger was built from the parts box. The body is AMT 57 Chev, the chassis Revell 64 GTO, the engine is a Revell pro-mod, the suspension/wheels/tires are from a  Lindburg 1/20 Toyota 4x4. The bullet holes were done with a small drill bit, then tapered a bit with a slightly larger bit, then after body paint a bit of silver on a tothpick added the punched through metal look.

As for getting around to it, watch the Mad Max series though once, rent some cheesy 1980's post-apoc movies. Then look at your stash of kits and see what jumps out at you. I'd never built a car that was supposed to look weathered or beat up. It's very liberating. Add a little too much glue? Screw it! Add some dirt to it and it looks deliberate. It was a lot of fun to build and I'm currently dreaming up another post-apoc build.
