I absolutely love this site!

Modeling doesn't have to be a solitary pursuit and this forum stuff proves it.

As I'm considering a hiatus from modeling (hopefully only a short one) in the near future as a few other things have come up recently in other avenues of life, possibly permanent relocation overseas, This forum will help me keep one foot in the hobby even if my building goes on hold. I can keep abreast of the latest developments and not be "out of the loop" when I come back into it.

Even if I'm not using my modeling skills, I can use this forum to offer them up to anyone who can make use of the experiences of my 20+ years in the hobby.

Keep up the good work FSM!

I concur. At the local hobby shop it is always the same faces and though we get along well the discussions are often very much the same. It is nice to talk with so many other modelers with such varying interests.

This website is fantastic.I am a subscriber for the past 10 years, but this site gives an exchange from ideas and improvements I can make on my models. Overhere it's only difficult to login on your site. After another two weeks the login is much better.Big Smile [:D]

Happy modeling

A VAST improvement over the old website! I felt the old website was just reruns of your printed magazine and not much else, so I rarely went there. But this new one--this is fantastic!

Thanks for the vote of confidence! The site's rehab was long overdue, but we wanted to make sure we did it in a way that wasn't just cosmetic. We wanted it to be more useful to subscribers and newcomers, experienced modelers and beginners (and born again modelers!) alike. These forums are a big part of that strategy, and we've been really happy with the number of members and posts and the diversity of topics that people have brought up already.

Happy modeling!

Yes it is!!! In the last year and a half I have bettered my own work just by reading FSM. Now with this forum I'm learning learning even more. My personal goal is to get one of my models published in the "Reader Gallery" section of the magazine. At 40 years old I have a long way to go, but I have high hopes. By the way, like so many others I read about, I too started modeling as a child in the late 60's. I also had to stop (for about 20 years) due to military service and low income. But have now the means and desire to finish my dream of not being ashamed to show my work in public (after all aren't we all our own worst critics). So keep up the GREAT WORK and I will KEEP READING.

IM sure glad Fine Scale Modeler finally has a website like this! Its about time, since its the really only good magazine devoted to all kinds of modeling, I think its been a long time coming for an expanded website like this. Does everyone else feel the same way?
