First, excellent job Dave!! I like all the changes.

As far as suggestions, well… I would like to see an easy way to search for member locations. I think it would be easier to discuss local shops, clubs and get in touch with other members of the forum.

I would also like to see a list of member websites. The only way I know how to check for websites is to look at a member profile, or see if a link is under a post. It is just a little hard to find the websites as it stands now.

These are just a couple things I would find useful, but like I said, GREAT JOB WITH THE FORUM!!! Keep up the good work,

erick

Oh, I also want to add that I LOVE that I can see who is on the forums at the same time as me. I guess I’m not sure how this helps me, but I think it is really cool.Big Smile [:D]

Dave I just wanted to say again you've done an excellent job on the upgrade and also wanted to mention that this is the ONLY forum I've been on where the web developer asked for input, opinions or suggestions...and then went and incorporated nearly everything that everyone asked for!!!!! Big Smile [:D]Wow!! [wow]

Y'all are great!! Give our thanks to everyone on your team and to the higher-ups who are approving all the input from us!!!

Eric

I guess I could take the easy way out and say "Yes, it's by design", but it's not. Black Eye [B)]

Thank you for noticing it AND taking the time to bring it to our attention.

I'm wondering if I should keep them or do away with post subjects for replies? Does anyone pay attention to them?

I don't exactly pay attention to them (didn't notice until after that last post) but when I see 'em, they make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Or sumthin' like that, I dunno why, though...

On other forums I usually change that anyway, not here though. And again, I dunno Y...

Also, are there really new smilies? Or are these guys just grabbing stuff off the web? OR are they only available to the original 'dirty dozen'? Just wondering...

EDIT: NEVERMIND! Just saw the link to the expanded smilie list!! Blush [:I]

Love all the new smilies too.
The post subject in bold I found a little distracting at first but I think I'll get use to it.

Yeah, I wasn't liking the green either (or I'm easily swayed by your opinion) so I went back to maroon, redish colors. Still not satisfied. Black Eye [B)]

(reposted from the announcement thread....)

I don't know...I'm still not happy with the colors. I wasn't quite prepared with a full color spec, so I've been spending a couple of hours trying a couple of variations. I think I'm 'bout ready to call it a night.

I changed the link colors, hit your F5 key to refresh your browser and see if it's an improvement. Before we had been using a dark red, I might go back to it.

New forums have some nice features David .... BRAVO. It's going to take a little while to get used to them.

Small complaint on my part is the green lettering isn't as well defined for these old eyes.

All in all ... looks great.

Thank you

Hello Dave,
All of my comments that I made in my Topic Thank You FSM still apply. If anything I'm even more thankful now for such a wonderful place to voice my opinions and listen to advice from other people who are as serious about modeling and aviation as I am. I agree we need a clock on this site as one day last week I spent 6 hours on here without realizing it! I would also love a chatroom if I can get this dinosaur diguised as a computer will handle it. I have been in other chatrooms that froze my computer and I would have to completely restart everything. Thanks for giving us modelers a voice and Thank You for including us in your plans!!!

Mac OS 9.2.2 -haven't tried it on 10 yet.

Internet Explorer 5.1

When I click on the format buttons it just adds gibberish to my message but it dosen't show up in the post. ie: clicking on the bold button adds to my message but it dissappears when I post it.

Might be all the Pop-Tart crumbs in my keyboard.Tongue [:P]

ps: How about some new smilies that look like little tanks and planes and stuff. Big Smile [:D]

the ability to post photos with no need fot external host site...just copy and paste...although there will be space availability problems. Agreed with chat , pitty that msn seems to suggest that most of the chatters are paedophiles or terrorists.

In regards to membership no.'s -- we really don't have or have assigned membership no.'s. There are id numbers, but those are record id's, not really meant as a membership no. If your curious though, your id # is 7291. The id # isn't a secret or anything either. If you look at the link to a member's profile, you'll see the id number.

Mac unfriendly? What OS and browser are you using? I'll check it out.

Photos -- we'll see. Smile [:)]

I have noticed that some of the type formats and a few other non-essential doohickies seem to be somewhat Mac unfriendly. At least on mine.

And I know this is an expensive request, but what about asking Santa for a new server for storing members pics? Y'know, add a members photos topic and allowing everybody one small pic that they could change from time to time. Might make it easier for dolts like me to explain what just went wrong with my model. -ie "hey Bob, did I just glue the wings of my mk I on upside down?"

Other than that, I'm very thankful for this site. I've learned more here in the last year than I have in my last 20 years of modeling.Smile [:)]

Hi and thanks for the forum,i visit it every day if possable. there's nothing that i would change really other that i would like to see a wanted forum, if you have it so that we can post requests but they can't be answered on the thread, only by e-mail that should mean that FSM has no comebacks if anything should go wrong with a deal that someone is making as the deal wasn't done through the forum i also would like to see a vacforming/resin thread, also we all have membership no's is there any way of finding what mine is? or maybe having it in our profiles?. again a big thank you to you and the rest of the team for this exellent site. Dave, I think this is a great site y'all have put together, sure has helped me come along alot. As far as improvements, of all the forums I have ever used, this is the bst as far as lay out and looks. I agree also about something to mark places I have posted, other than that keep up the good work and maybe I can get away from here to get some building done.
