I once my status is up, i was going to use the same site, my suggestion is that the pic may have to be in a "public"folder so the site may be able to link to it

Two questions...

Does Google Photo indicate the URL or other link content to use?  The photo hosts I have used, ie, Photobucket and Postimage, make clear the link to use to post in a forum.

and

Does the same URL/link text string that you get from Google Photo work in any other forum you might belong to?  It's possible that Google has provided you with a good string of text for the link, but that Finescale's web page doesn't handle it correctly.  I know that when I get my links from Postimage, the link contains both URL tags and image tags (the tags appear in square brackets at the beginning and end of the URL for the image).  I have to remove the URL tags, otherwise Finescale's page will render any text I type into the post, after the image, in boldface.  I don't have to do that anywhere else.  Hyperscale's old pages used to have a problem with the link URLs, too.   If your images show OK in a different forum, then the problem is in how Finescale reads the URL and tries to render the image.

The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.

I did a few test here and inserting a link was working from a public folder BUT!!! My full name was at the top of the image and the name of the folder. so i sent A request on how to do it without my name showing up. In these days i would rather not send my ID across the  INTER Weeeebs. sendin a link to a family memeber is 1 thing...

So once i get a response so will all of us

So this is a follow up post

This was my original question to Google photo

How do i share a link to a pic anonymously with google photos?

After a response from a tier 1 saying “ to post all you have to do is…

I had to clarify with this
The issue as seen in the bottom picture attachment, is that my real name appears at the top "Big P, in a blue circle and my full name".

This is what i do not want to appear in the posting on forums, just the pic not the info

And the final response from Google :
“Unfortunately, it is not possible to remove your name while showing up the photo through Google Photos. That being said, if you would like to see this feature implemented in the future, I recommend leaving feedback …”

So I guess I will create a “new” public Google Photo account just for FSM forums

I have been using Google Photos to host my images for some time know. For some unkown reason some user cant view what is posted, but I dont have any issues with my personal information showing up in the URL.

I did set my privacy settings within Google to avoid any breach as much as can be expected these days.

This page is a bit convoluted in it's layout, but I have been following the instructions from there to post my stuff using Google as a host and have had zero issues so far.

Hope it works for anyone interested.

My fear is if enough folk figure out how to do this, Google will disable the feature. They surely don't advertise it.

Hi Greg I read the post and it was interesting until I got to the update at the end of the page

My point was what I was seeing and sharing,

In step 3 the 2nd pic shows that issue, you zoom in to the top of the pic you can see the name of the owner.

So if my Name on the forum is Model Master 666, then I share a pic of my Angel riding a Unicorn, and my real name Bobby Rimes, is posted I am going to have some explaining

That's exactly why I left Flickr. It was possible but too many steps to strip my personal info.

If you follow the page author's steps all the way though (don't worry about step 3, that is an intermediate step and a viewer will never be able to get back to it), at the end will be a page with you pic on a black backgroud. I think it is clickable to go fullsize, having brain freeze right now.

I hope this makes sense. I completely understand your concern and I am exactly the same with linking to any personal info.

Here's an idea: How about you try it once, if it doesn't do what you want let me know and I'll do my best to get Google doing what you want. If I miss a post from you, feel free to PM.

Edit: Honestly, I never paid attention to that update at the bottom of the linked blog page. I'm not sure if that update is supposed to go with the original or updated post, but I'm guessing the original.

I haven't had one report of a viewer not being able to see my images.

I understand your concern, I'd still suggest trying it and see what you think.

This is a repost from How the heck do i post pictures:

"just read the post about uploading pics, as you can figure out i do know a little something something about computers, but not forums, if you look at my recent posting, i can add links and they work, but when i tried the insert a pic as explained with "the mountain with the moon"

I input the source, but nothing shows up in the post. Am i missing a step after this?"

Continuation of this original thread
So from my tests I had to do allot of "tweaking" in the security settings, and by "changing" the visible name on the account from "john Doe" to Model master 666" it would change all the settings for aspects of my accounts, so mom would see Model master 666 instead of my name. So this option was not viable, hence a new email account for Google photo and FSM forums.
