I use Flickr, so far it is easy however they did pull a picture the had my mug on it. Maybe I'm just ugly. Anyway once you get the image out of your camera you upload that file to the host webesite then insert onto FSM. It is really easy but I suck at computers so explaining what happens may be no help. Hope ya figure it out cause it is a blast being able to participate.

we're modelers it's what we do

I use Postimage.org        It's free , easy  , but there are a few ad's ( not a lot like 6 and thats it )

The way I do it :

 1   take your pictures.

2     load them onto your computer.

3   Choose a photo hosting site to upload the pictures to.

4 On postimage I use the direct link to post the pictures here.

I know this is "VERY" simplified. But I'm not that computer savvy so I dont know how to explain it any better. I just "muddled " through it on my own untill I got lucky and hit the right keys.

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

The link tool is that little button up at the tool bar when you have the "reply" window open here, the one that looks like a mountain with the sun over it.

If you have your photo (NO pdfs) on a host site, it has it's own URL. Paste that into the link here and it sets up a link that shows the image when the site is accessed. The image isn't really "there".

I use Fotki.

If you really want to waste time and amuze yourself, a lot of folks don't organize their hosting site albums too well or protect them. You can then look at everything they ever uploaded- it can be entertaining.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I second using "Post Image" website. Quick and easy to upload with idot proof links to share your photo on all types of social media and with thumbnails too!

Frustrating, isn't it? You received some good answers that hopefully will guide you down the path. If I recall from my own tribulations, you MUST use a .jpg image format. Life would be so much simpler if if were possible to just effect Flickr-style uploads from your personal PC image file. Alas, that's probably is never going to happen. Sad Meanwhile, I'd give the thieves at Photobucket a wide berth; try Flickr instead.

Best Regards. Do let us know how things work out.

just read the post about uploading pics, as you can figure out i do know a little something something about computers, but not forums, if you look at my recent posting, i can add links and they work, but when i tried the insert a pic as explained with "the mountain with the moon"

i input the source, but nothing shows up in the post. Am i missing a step after this?

This is my problem too. It seems intuitive to insert image, copy and paste source (pinterest in my case) and voila, but nothing shows up.

Nuckss, here are instructions to upload a picture:

Here is what I do to add pictures to my posts with Imgur:

1. I login to Imgur and find the picture I want to post:

2. On the Direct Link Option click "Copy".

3. Now go to FSM forum and find the Thread you want to add the picture too.

4. Find the post and click the "Reply" button. (If you do not see a reply button, you may need to refresh the browser screen. Or go to another post that does have a "Reply" Button.) You should see the next picture:

5. The add picture icon is circled in Red. Click on it, the next pic will show you what needs to be added:

6. Source circled in Red is where you will paste the copied information from Imgur, or any hosting site. Then I set dimensions to 500 X 350 and I leave Constrain proportion checked. These are arbitrary numbers, they can be set to whatever your prference may be. I do not add an Image Description, however you can if you like.

7. Click "OK" to add the picture. At this time you still have not posted the post, and you can go back and make adjustments. When done, click on "Submit your reply" at the bottom of the page.

8. Hope this helps.

Thanks, John! Just tested the BBCode and it works. Thanks again for the tip.

What is the "bbcode" please?

This is where the BBCode option is located in Imgur (I do not know where this is in other photo sharing sites):

It allows you to copy and paste this code directly into the post; instead of having to use the image icon.

Hope this helps.
