Hmm, I still have the auto-copy feature on Photobucket working.  No manual copying required.  Perhaps it's a browser issue?  I'm using Firefox.

Which version? I'm using Firefox 3.0.5 and no auto copy feature!

I use Firefox also and have the auto-copy feature.

But what version?  Click on "Help" and then on "About Mozilla Firefox" and let us know.

So long folks!

Y'know, It's kinda roughly along these lines here, so I'll pose my question here.

It used to be that with Photobucket, you just had to click on the [img] link and it automatically copied. But lately, it hasn't been doing that anymore. Actually have to go through the "labor intensive hassle" of right clicking to copy. Certainly not a big deal by any means, but has anyone else noticed this? I know Photobucket had changes some recently. I just wonder if this was one of those changes...Confused [%-)]

I noticed the change, it's really annoying.  I now have to carefully move my mouse down until the links drop down, then click in the field and manually copy the link.  If I move just a hair too far the drop down links disappear and I have to start over.  It used to be just a simple matter of clicking on the link, it would automatically copy and then just simply paste the link in a post.

Resizing photos to 800x600 (or 1024x768) will also greatly decrease the file sizes and improve performance.

also you might want to look at the file size of the picture you are dealing with. if the pic is 3mb + in size then it might take some time on a slower connection to upload.

The reason why FSM and many other forums don't allow direct uploading of images is that then they would have to have enough hard disk space to store it all which given the volume of pics and posts here would wind up being a pretty expensive proposition for them.

Just upload your pic to photobucket and copy the IMG link (4th one down I believe) and paste it into your post.  It's that simple.

Truthfully I hate photobucket.  I use picoodle.  Works rather quick, doesnt take me long at all to get pics up.

but I do agree we should beable to do a direct upload to the site, ut then the server would get taxed. and older pics owuild have to be depeted periodicly to save space and money

Then I must suggest that perhaps you've (or perhaps FSM) been having a problem with your connection to the internet. Posting pics from Photobucket is pretty straight forward, and I, for one, have never experienced any delay in posting.

I hope that this is a situation that resolves itself for you. I can see how it's frustrating, and wish you luck.

...well, the not so funny thing is that I used your "how to" (/forums/815119) which I printed out on 4/4/2008.  Didn't work today...took a very long time to upload one photo, and then wouldn't give me the option of putting it in one of our threads.  I'm not saying the PhotoBucket does not work because we just need to look at the threads to see that there are pics out there.  What I'm saying is there has to be a much better, faster, less frustrating way to put our pics in the threads.

The funny thing is, that this thread ended up under my tutorial on how to post pictures using Photobucket!

PhotoBucket Frustration
Posted by piperjoe on Friday, December 5, 2008 12:55 PM

Why, oh why, can we not just upload pictures to this Forum site via using the My Pictures feature on our own computer - similiar to the way R/C Universe Forum site allows??  Just spent a very frustrating half hour trying to get PhotoBucket to place ONE!! picture on a FSM thread.  GEEEZ!  And then it didn't work..

Using My Pictures on R/C Universe, it's snap the picture, upload, type in post and zap in the picture.  Very quick and very easy.  Why can't we do this here?

How many users on this Forum site really, if truthful, like the PhotoBucket "must use" or how many would prefer something like just being able to use the My Picture option right in front of them?

Yep,I AM a bit frustrated here...Banged Head [banghead]
