Makes sense. 

How about posting scans from kit instructions when you have questions about assembly or the parts?  

Actually, since anyone can copy a jpeg to a desktop, the equivalent to posting a scanned image in the forum would be bringing a reference book to a club meeting ... and photocopying and distributing a page.  It's a can of worms FSM would like to avoid.

Follow this simple guideline and you'll be OK: Don't publish any scanned photos of copyrighted material (eg. book, magazine, etc.) in the forum.

Penalty for doing so? The owner of the copyright could take legal action. 

Hope this makes practical sense.

 does this mean i cant scan a picture out of a book? i mean i know what your saying but i've done this in the forum b4 (not thinking about copyright issues at all ). i'd just like to thoroughly understand it in my head b4 something happens. also, what's the "punishment" for said actions??? again, i have to plead dumb on what i was doing...certainly not trying to cause issues. thanks in advance!

Scans from copyrighted materials are not allowed in the forum. Here's further info:
