Inserting Photos
Posted by Stumpjumper70 on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 3:02 PM

Is there a secret to inserting photos? I am currently just pasting them in and they appear fine when in Preview but once posted I get the following rather than the pic:

Help!

I think there are some tutorials you can find by searching the forum. Otherwise, what I can quickly tell you is that you'll need a Photobucket account, or a similar web based photo hosting program. You can upload photos directly to your account, then copy the IMG code into the post box. That's long story short. I'll see if I can't dig up a posting picture tutorial, unless some one else finds it first.

Thanks - thought I was going mad. Sounds like you're saying that it needs to be a link to a web-based account and then I just paste it in using the 'Insert Media' button?

No, you don't need the insert media button at all. What you'll do is set up your photobucket account first. Its free and easy. Familiarize yourself with uploading photos to it which you can do via their interface, or you can even email photos to your account.

When you click on a photo in Photobucket you'll see on the left hand side, several codes that will allow you to "share this image". You'll have to click on the one that says IMG Code and it will automatically copy (like ctrl c). Then you would open a post or reply, such as this, and then paste (ctrl v) the code into your post.

Don't be alarmed. When posting the code will still appear, you won't see the actual photo until you've submitted the actual post.

Hope that makes some sense. Its not as complicated as I've probably made it sound.
