How to stop email notifications??
Posted by Theuns on Sunday, March 9, 2014 12:47 AM

Hi all. I am getting email notifications and would VERY much like to stop them as they are flooding my email.

I have in the past received them only on threads I looked at and could just stop them with the button on the thread, but now I can't do that and am also getting notification of threads I have not been to or opened.

How do I stop this please??

Thanx

Hey Theuns,

Beneath your profile pic is a link called Email Notifications. Click there and you can turn off notifications for different forums. I saw that the button for the Paint forum was on, so I turned it off. Hopefully, this will cut down on the number of email notifications you are receiving. If you keep getting more unwanted notifications, PM me.

Thanks,

Tim

Thanx Tim, I have now clicked all the fields to be "remove" they were all highlighted. I have no idea how that happened.

Tim ,I highlighted all the side tabs to now read "remove" in black, but still get notifications. What am I doing wrong? Can my email not be blocked or removed from the site??

Are you getting notifications from the gallery, from the forum, or both?

Ah, I see what happened. You want the buttons to say "Receive". That means you click it to get that notification. If it says "Remove" it means you want to click here to remove from the list. I've reset all the buttons to "receive," which means you shouldn't receive any notifications from the lists proper.

Theuns,

Can you give me an example of a thread you haven't posted into but are receiving email notifications from? That will help us troubleshoot the issue.

Thanks,

Tim

Tim, it seems to be sorted now, thanx!

What do I do not to get the same thing again? I must have made a mistake at some stage to have the settings wrong.

Hi Theuns,

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I was in the workshop all day yesterday.

I think it was just a matter of the settings in your email notifications.

Glad you're good to go!
