ALWAYS have to sign in on iPad2---WHY??
Posted by the doog on Thursday, January 15, 2015 9:34 AM

Hello,

If anyone can help me, I'd apprciate getting rid of what is a sincere annoyance at this point--I have to sign on every single time I come to the forums, on my iPad2. YES, I have "cookies enabled" and this device runs on Safari/

Which means I have to constantly "X-out" of those constant ads that appear on the screen as well before I can do anything. It's getting to be a real PITA. Anyone know how to get around this? Any help much appreciated!

I have the same problem, but at least it remembers my email and password so I don't need to type that every time. But it's still annoying

Maybe it's a setting in iOS on your iPad. Could be that something is set to automatically log you out after a period of non-activity. Couldn't hurt to check.....

Ok, so I just tried it on my iPad, which is running iOS 8.0.2 (haven't applied the latest update yet), and I don't have the issue that you're describing. I accessed Finescale.com on Safari, entered my username and password, got logged in, then I exited out of Safari, went back in to Safari, went to the Finescale.com page, and I was still logged in. Is that what you're having an issue with?

Hi, Doog. I just updated the iOS on my iPad (which is an iPad3 16GB) to 8.1.3, during which time the iPad rebooted itself. Afterwards, I brought up Safari, went to the Finescale website, and saw that I was still logged on, even after letting my system upgrade. I still think that maybe you have a setting wrong somewhere. Be glad to help you out with it if you want to give me a call. Just PM me if you're interested.

Yeah, that's what I was getting--I just seemed to have to log in every time I come back, whether it's two days later or two minutes. I do have an update waiting to do; let me do that and monkey around with the setings and see what happens. If it doesn't work right, I"ll give you a call!  Thanks, Devil Dawg!

Hey Doogs, just bough an iPad II and am having the same problem of having to log in repeatedly.  Did you ever figure this issue out? Thanks!

It sure is!  If I can get it to work, I'll let you know how to do it.  Thanks!
