Not receiving email notifications
Posted by modelcrazy on Saturday, July 28, 2018 2:21 AM

Is anybody else not receiving emails from threads that were subscribed to?

For the past two or three days I haven't received any notifications of threads I subscribed to. When I go into "email notifications" and try to remove the notification from selected forum topics nothing happens. I wanted to remove the notifications and re-subscribe thinking that would fix my problem.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Steve

Thanks Bish, it's good to know I'm not alone on this. I'll just keep a closer eye the forum to make sure I don't miss any responses until it gets fixed.

I'm not getting emails either. Steve5 mentioned it in the ship forum as well. So, something is hosed. Heck. I didn't even get an email saying that the next Digial issue of FSM is up. I found it by checking for it.

Come to think of it, I havent been receiving updates either. Something that I do find useful at times, espcially when involved in a group build.

I just checked my settings and ALL my previously subscribed threads are gone, some one either turned off or removed this functionality from this site...

So are mine, and you can't re-subscribe because the thread itself thinks your already subscribed, which of course I am. But you can't unsubscribe if it thinks you never subscribed. Catch 22.

As noted in a post from a couple of days ago, I have ceased receiving any posts from this GB nor the Commonwealth GB that I am also subscribed to. I've checked "Email Notifications" and it says I am not subscribed to any forums. However, under "Forum Topics" everything is listed. Toward the end of the Forum list there is a technical assistance forum. As I understand it, other modelers are having the same problem. I urge everyone that's having trouble to make a post there. As everything was going fine for me on this forum until about a week ago (and yes I subscribed) and then halted, it's got to be glitch on their end. For me the Group Build Forum is basically crippled. It's nuts to make people manually check all messages themselves. Please do fix this. Eric Bergerud

Although the idea is a bad one, if Finescale can't get their act together, I'll have to start using them. Eric

Don't feel bad. I haven't gotten one in over two years. My email changed and the forum won't let me change it. Repeated messages to admin have resulted in nothing. Face it, the mag is their first and foremost concern. This forum is just an afterthought.

You should be able to change your e-mail in by useing the Update account link or does that not work.

Getting a little annoyed,  Does't someone at Fine scale read these posts!  Something is broken with the site were we are not getting our posts form threads we've subscribed to.  Are you guys on vacation.

Just a email saying we're working on it or we're aware of the issue would be good.

Thanks

John

Same issue. Always got them, and now am not getting them. Also, instead of saying "subscribed" on a forum, the tab is just gone. On ones I am not subscribed to, I have the option, but clicking it makes no difference.

Something happened on July 25th to the forums. On that day I couldn't log onto the forums at all. After that was fixed I stopped receiving e-mail notifications.

Your comments and questions are always welcome.

Hey guys, thanks for your patience. It's frustrating for us editors too. I know our web maintence department is working on a solution as a type. As soon as I know more I'll post here.

Thank You for responding Elizabeth. I just realized that I was experiencing the very same issue. Also, I'm finding that I am unable to log off from the site. Well, I'll hang tight until all gets resolved. All good.

If you're on a Group Build, I think you'll find that weeks of posts are kaput, including hundreds that had been posted before the forum went on strike - 2 and a half months in the case of the Commonwealth GB. You might think of restoring some important posts.

Eric

I'd like to correct the above post. Although all the messages came today they included many from past dates. That said, the 1943 75th Anniversery is still absent several weeks of posts that came from the period before the crash.
