Another week, still no fix. Today the glitch even removed previous posted work while I was editing/updating the post.

One week later no fix.

The original post here disappeared while typing a lengthy reply detailing the specific problems.

It’s a shame that the forum no longer has the “save” button like it used to... along with spell check.

It happens to me often.

On my iPhone I'll often go ahead and post, then go back in edit mode to continue.

On my pc I learned from Rob to write in Word and then paste into my post.

Yup! Me to!

Open a text editor, write in that then cut & paste into the FSM forum post.

Yes, a quick response such as this and I just type in the response block, but if I am writing a comprehensive and lengthy response, I will type it in the body of Word or an email body so it will not vanish. That's happened way too many times.

I have never had a problem using my Windows 10 machine or my MacBook Air. I stay away from using my Ipad.

Your comments and questions are always welcome.

I type it on text edit.

Select all, copy, paste.

If it vanishes, I paste it again and again and again till it sticks.

Twice hapenned while typing most of the post before submitting.

Thanks for your feedback on this issue and bumping the previous threads reporting the problem. I've been talking with our devs about it, and they are now actively looking into it. It still seems to predominantly affect iOS devices, so that's where they're going to begin. I'll keep you posted as I know more. TK

Tim I currently use iPadOS 14.3 and have not had the problem in more than two years, but I have had the problem a few times over the same period using and old Windows 10 laptop.

Mine has happened using an HP laptop running windows 10, Chrome.

I do not recall it happening on IE or Edge.

Seems I’m not the only one with this problem. Has hapenned a couple of times, last one about 3 hours ago. The issues keep popping up on this new improved site!

iPhone 7 running iOS 13.3.1 on Safari

iPad Air running iOS 12.5

I update every time a new iOS update comes through for each device.

The commonality so far is an iPad (Stik reports problems with his iPhone, too). So on it's face it's an iOS issue. The first question our devs are going to ask what version of of iOS are you using. Do you have the latest version? If not, then they'll recommend updating to the latest version. Then it comes down to the browser you're using. They'll point out that clearing cookies is a way to help smooth out problems. If you're doing those things regularly and still experiencing the problems, then, again, it's about looking for commonalities. Right now, it looks like you and plasticjunkie are the ones experiencing the problem.

Ultimately, it seems that the majority of users aren't experiencing this problem (or have not reported it if they are).

Elizabeth reported the iPhone issues to our devs, but we have to be able to provide them with as much info as possible.

I'll check with them to see if there have been reports of iOS problems with the community software in general.

Thanks,

TK

It happens with my iPad and iPhone. I do not currently use a laptop or desktop for this. As far as I know how, I only use the Apple browser, Safari, or whatever it is.

The next step to troubleshoot this is the problem confined to iPads (other mobile devices) or have users on laptops and desktops experienced it, too. And what browsers has it happened in? Safari only? Others? TK

I’ve had the same things happening for a long time when here using my iPad. Check back on my previous report errors posts to see for how long. It’s  EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING.

This has happened to me so often, usually after a lengthy response. It is very frustrating, so I've gotten into the habit of copying the text for a long response so that if it vanishes, I can just paste it into a new response.

Sorry for the inconvenience Plasticjunkie. We're going through a security update today, so there will be times when the Forum is unavailable. I suspect that when this happened to you previously, we were probably undergoing another update. There really isn't anything we can do about a 504 Error. It's a timeout error. The server didn't answer you quickly enough, and the reasons for that are numerous. Today, it's probably because of the updates we're installing.

This is the second time this happens. I have a post almost completed and pufff!!!!......gone into oblivion before my eyes. Also once in a while getting a delay on the typing showing up on my IPad screen . Got a couple of 504 error codes too. All this happens only on this site, NO Where else.
