Mr. Voss, I am confused...

OK, couple questions, why is my post rank 2? And a lot of other peoples' also? Furthermore my postcount reads 3,161, when it should be 3,011. (Nit picking now right, but I don't want ummm credit for posts I haven't made.) Also, How would I go about getting myself an avatar? -Well anyway, thanks for anyhelp.

The post rank?  Can you ignore it?  It doesn't really mean anything.  I'll have to go on a S&D mission to eradicate any display of it. Wink [;)]

3,161 posts -- that should be right.  I just updated it this morning.  The difference is probably the Odds & Ends forum posts included in there.

As for an avatar, just find an image you like and upload it.  Smile [:)]

The old colour -- you mean the green?

The red is the "Apple" colour?

The greys were taken directly off the old forum.  The khaki, tan (whatever it is) is a shade darker.  The khaki, tan from the old forum didn't look quite right being lighter than the sides.  The green is gone ... I wasn't about to use it in the forum since it's not used anywhere else.

yeah. all in all the only things i strongly dislike are the removal of quick reply and the elimination of ranks. other than that, it's all cool... though why we couldnt stick with the other one is beyond me...

This one is .NET (C# to be specific) and the other one was ASP (VBScript).  We're trying to consolidate our websites under the same technology.

This one is supported by a company who we can call upon for guaranteed support, the other one does not have guaranteed support.

This one is supported in that it's being improved upon and new features are being added, the other is for the most part becoming legacy software with little to no continued development.  This is important due to new technologies in regards to servers, databases, browsers, and expectations.

This one will scale whereas the other one doesn't.  The performance issues you're experiencing are more to do with the ads (our poor little ad server) than this site.

AH thats why it looks so perdy they must be useing Windows Server 2003 with .net frame work. That explanes it all.
