A quick test of Photbuckets current free service.

For me this photo looks fine.

But for everyone else this photo using Photobucket has a watermark on it.

Had I been a heavy user of the cheapest Photobucket plan, you would see a Blured image too. like in this example:

Conclusion:  Don't use Photobucket unless you pay for the best plan.  Photobucket does not let you use their site for posting elsewhere unless you pay. Thought you would like to know.

I was having a terrible time posting and I tend to use my phone more often than not. I tried a number of hosting sites until I found imgbb, I find it simple and easy to use from upload I go to my photos and choose one or multiple I'm then given a choice of bbcodes. Thought I'd mention this site as it might work well for some as it does for me.

A quick re-test of flickr, a different method.

I displayed the photo I want to link to. Click on the Share button (curved arrow) in the lower right corner and chose the last option: BBcode .  I choose the specific section of the BB code that has .JPG at the end.

Here is the line I copied from the BB code data to put into the FSM link SOURCE line:

https://live.staticflickr.com/1791/43047806895_d553c8ddd1_h.jpg

It came from the full BB code of:

url=https://flic.kr/p/28zZgea]img https://live.staticflickr.com/1791/43047806895_d553c8ddd1_h.jpg  [/img]/urlurl=https://flic.kr/p/28zZgea]Air and Space Museum Va[/url byurl=https://www.flickr.com/photos/152419032@N02/Jim Margerum/url, on Flickr

I tried again using the full BB code and I do not get a picture!                                                                                                                                                                                  My normal method for Flickr is to right click on a photo and choose the "view page info" and then click on MEDIA and go down the list and copy the line of data that specifies the picture. So, I scroll down to bottom  and pick(click) the line that gets the picture displayed at the bottom of the window. Watch the "size".  I always pick the line with largest file size. It is usually the bottom line.  Copy this line and paste it into the FSM "insert/edit image.                                                                                                                                          I choose 640 as first dimension in the EDIT window and leave the second dimension box blank.  That will fill the screen with an image. If someone clicks on my image, it takes them to my full size image on Flickr.

Here is a screen shot:    (click on it to see it enlarged)

Either method can seem complicated.  At least they work.

Hope this helps some folks who use Flickr.

P.S. Postimage seems to be the easiest of the free hosting sites for me.

BlackSheep214,

Your explanation covers posting multiple pictures in one Post. Thanks. I may have misinterpreted, or over thought, the request and your reply should satisfy that situation.   I suppose it still can be considered adding one Picture at a time even though all are added to a Reply or Post at one time when Submit is hit.  Depends on your viewpoint  I guess.

It would be nice if a Hosting site let us choose multiple picture/links from a hosting site at one time and then, if FSM would let us,  input those multiple links all at one time too. One click at Hosting and one click at FSM, done.

You are right. Your method will allow multiple pictures into a single Post.  You still must go back and forth between the Hosting site and the FSM open Reply/Post window. Which means put in a picture link at your FSM Post , then go back to the Hosting site and get an additional picture link and input that at FSM,  and so forth till all pictures are in the Post- just don't click Submit till done .  This means you CAN put more than 1 picture in a post before clicking Submit but you are still going back and  forth, one picture at a time.

Generally many Posters will add some text, then a picture to back it up, followed by more text and additional Pictures.  Same principal. We keep the Reply window open till all images and text are input.  I took it that this basic principal was not what Steve5 was asking. If I misinterpreted, then this reply and yours will satisfy the question "How to post multiple pictures at a time".

An additional thought...

The Edit capability is handy in that corrections or additions to text and as well as additional pictures can be added to a Post as well as correcting/adding back Images that have disappeared.  I feel the Edit button is not used enough.

Thanks for following-up and keeping me straight on all the options.

     Nino

P.S.  I finished reading  "The Black Sheep", Definitive account of Marine Squadron 214, by B. Gamble  It was great to get some real facts to square away my Reading of Col. Boyington's autobiography. I have a desire to build a F4U-1a now.

I post multiple images in one reply (or your own thread) page before posting. I simply upload one image at a time, copy the link, paste, go back and upload another, copy the link, paste, etc...

Once I've done that, I submit the post and all my images is on there.

Postimage: Multiple pics to a post
Posted by Nino on Friday, October 19, 2018 12:41 PM

There wasa a question put forward as to How to select more than 1 image from Postimage and then post multiple pictures at a time.

I did a little exprimenting.

I was unable to select more than one picture at a time directly from Postimage for posting into an FSM reply.

This may be a mute point since I did a test trying to post(read: ADD) multiple pictures at the same time.  I did this by copying three pictures to a file (Word Doc), then copying all the pictures in the doc and pasting into an FSM post.

It failed .  Only one picture would post.  I tried another method and only the last Picture posted.  The last test only posted the 3 picture links.

1st test: 3 pictures "copied" and pasted into the Reply. Only one picture posts.

2nd test.  The links for the 3 pictures were copied, seperated by commas and pasted into the Insert/edit field.  Only the last link posted a picture.

3rd test:

Pasted the 3 picture links directly into the Reply field  This results in just the links posting:

https://i.postimg.cc/pXv27tQ9/IMG-2008.jpg, https://i.postimg.cc/zG3X5MKN/Glencoe-viking-ship-w-horns-3.jpg, ttps://i.postimg.cc/YC0HtdLW/IMG-1090.jpg

It appears there is no easy way to post( ADD) multiple pictures at one time using insert/edit.

EDIT: Only one picture link can be added at a time but multiple pictures can be added to a Post by adding each one seperately before hitting Submit.

EDIT:   Remember, you can still  Copy a picture image and Paste directly into the Reply field, bypassing Insert/edit.  I did the picture below using Copy and Paste instead of the Insert/edit Icon:

But there does not seem to be a way to post(correction:ADD) multiple pictures at one time unless you use an editing program that allows 2 or more pictures to be combined into 1 image file.

(See picture posts from Kirill4 as he has perfected the technique to edit/add 2 photos together and post as 1 image.

Edit:  Another ticbit:   You can copy an entire FSM Post and all the words & pictures in it can be pasted into a new post. That is how I created this thread.  I made this entire "Post" in another thread and copied it and pasted it into this new Thread.

It looks like to add multiple pictures at one time I would need to find a program that simulates the FSM reply/post window. Creating such a file with pictures in it and then copying it  to then paste into a Reply, would allow multiple pictures to be entered at one time.   It means a member could work on a Reply/Post offline and then copy and paste the Post in its entirety, with pictures and words, into a new Post.   All we need is an FSM Simulator.

If anyone has some alternative ideas, Please post'em.
