Hi Guys-

New to the forums. Started building when I was 7 or 8 and quit through my teens and 20s. Came back to it about 12 years ago armed with an airbrush. My favorite is modeling WW2 aircraft. As an artist, and a designer by trade I enjoy weathering, and the small details the best.

Current build is a Revell 1/48 P-40B Flying Tiger.

Here are some I have completed over the last 10-12 years.

Welcome to the Forums Redman! Glad to have you aboard!

I'm a lifetime builder. Been building for 70 of my 76 years. If I like the looks of a kit and my wallet says OK then I build it. My favorites are WWII fighters and Sailing Ships.

Keep the pics coming.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I look forward to looking and learning.

Almost done with this 1/48 Revell P-40. Still need to finish off the last touches antenna wire, canopy, etc. Going to try a mud mixture technique too for a muddy tire effect. See how that goes. I'm no pro, but its coming along alright.

Thanks for the kind words Steve. For the chipping I used a combo of Berol silver colored pencil and dry brushing with silver enamel. The streaking is a combo of post shading with the airbrush, and black pastel sludge for the panel lines, and black pastel powder for the exhaust and gunpowder streaks . For the post shading I used a super thinned down grimy black acrylic 4:1 Tamiya thinner to MM grimy black acrylics. Dialed down the psi to about 10-15psi.

You really wipped that Revell kit into shape. You make me wat to start mine. Great looking weathering all the way down to the mud on the tires.

Like Jim said, looks like a contesty winner.
